Bass Beauty Pageant

I'm more into big shiny things than highly figured woods.

Big and shiny.

Big and long, not shiny but it also comes with a green pickguard. Plus it has a knob which does nothing, a switch which does nothing, and a single-coil P pickup under an MM cover, and I love everything fake.

Very big and very shiny.

Very very big, for the Derek Smalls in all of us.

Probably not especially big and not shiny at all, but it makes the list anyway. I love the contrast.

Loses points for being only medium scale, but it gets points for being pink and having a Burny logo which looks like "Bunny". It's a pretty pink bunny bass.

One I acutally have, quite big and shiny also.

congrats on such beautiful basses! Can't wait to get an lx, bit shy of the pennies to get one at the minute though :( Which setup do you prefer - reverse p and j pickups or soap bars?
That's a tough one. For looks I like the P/J set up but for flexibility the EMG soap bars might be a better choice. I believe the EMG soaps can be configured as P/J or dual Humbucker or P/P or just about any other configuration you can imagine under the soap bar covers. So if you get tired with one sound you can flip them out for a different set with a different sound without having to reroute the bass.

I don't know about "prettiest" necessarily, but this bass haunted my dreams (in a good way!) the whole time the FS thread was up:

Cliff, I know you're not fishing here :), but I've seen several of your basses in the Classifieds that I'd put right up there; I really dig your aesthetic.
"Pretty" is indeed subjective - I think if a Klingon played the bass it might look like this. :)

ok ok, but beauty is only skin deep so they say (whoever they are) … so I'm seeing all the occasionally exotic but always pristine lovelies prance down the catwalk and scratching' my head.., so is this pagent open to beauty w/o boundaries? If so, here's some inner beauty for ya'… (sorry to those who are tired of looking at it already… I just couldn't resist the thread title)
