I, totally, agree. My current band started doing Jessie's Girl recently. I used to play it in a couple other bands over the years. It always goes over well. When I mention to the audience sometimes that the song is 41 years, many people do not realize that. There are many other songs like that too.
It's amazing when someone figures out a way to turn something good into something even better...

I had to have heard that song a thousand times over the years. But, having watched that video this one time, I may never be able to not hear it that way in my head ever again.

Yep, I saw that too! Wikipedia says there were (are?) bass-sized & tuned lutes, so maybe it's in there somewhere.

Yeah. It's called a brute.
There are a couple Archlutes or theorbos, so yes. Too far away to tell which but they both have floating bass strings (kind of like on a harp guitar) that go about an octave lower than a typical lute, with scale lengths often even longer than an upright bass.
