I'm quite sure I'm in better shape than you. Most people think I'm in my twenties. So in my case, I'm not only older than you I'm better than you.

P.S. Still a little mad that I pointed out what a complete moron you are in the MMA thread?

My biggest pet peeve:
Me and my drummer friend used to set up auditions for guitarists. We wanted to do a Cream/Clash/Stooges/Miles Davis thing. (Broad I know, but that was how it was for us in 2002)

These are the type of idiots we had come to the audition:

A genuine denim clad deep purple fan who was only interested in solo type playing :spit:
A smelly punk guitarist who only knew one dynamic....ROAR!:rollno:
A genuinely talented guitarist who wouldn't talk.

We haven't auditioned anyone since because we can't understand why nearly every guitarist we have met since 1999 has been a complete idiot.

I also don't like musicians who can't sensibly position themselves in the frequency spectrum.

-the singer who has been singing "Back in the USSR" for 40 years and still doesn't know the song structure!
-the rhythm guitard who has no idea about musical dynamics... everything is played on ten!
-the drummer who stops playing during rehearsals, in the middle of the song because he heard someone make a mistake/and or he doesn't know the song!
-practicing at the drummer house where there is no PA which means the singer is singing through someone's son's 20 watt Peavey guitar amp... simply because they don't want to pony up the $10.00 per person, the fully equiped practice space charges
-the guitard who calls you up to tell you that his level of frustration with the band has reached it's limit and will only stay with the band on a weekly basis, based on the previous weeks practice and then ends the conversation by saying "oh and by the way, here's the 10 songs you need to learn for next weeks practice!
-being a better rhythm guitarist, than the actual rhythm guitarist! After practice, I asked the guy if I could try out his Gibby SG, I liked it's look and sound. He says sure, so I pick it up and start plying some really basic blues/rockabilly stuff, I played 25 yers ago and the guitard looks at me and says... "wow, I wish I could stretch my left hand like that!"
****And I have only been playing with them for 4 weeks! LMAO

WOW! After reading most of these posts, I feel I've been fortunate for the mates I've played music with over the years! Maybe we were more concerned with being friends than musicians? Uh oh, should that be then and not than? Oh well, more Pet Peavey fodder!

- When my drummer counts off a song by saying - "ONe, Two, Ready, Go", and I can't find the words that make him understand that this is unprofessional and makes it harder to start off a song because ready has 2 syllabes and its an awkward way of counting off a song.

It doesn't have to be awkward as long as it's done in time. "Ready" could correspond to "3 and" still keep the pulse. That is assuming it's a song in a basic 4/4. Now if he's just not speaking in time, then it's possible he's no playing in time, either. There might be a different problem going on.

those are musicians 90% of the time, notice the intense focus? lighten up brotard.

+1 I'm that guy in the back with the Yuengling tapping out the bass line and noticing every mistake you make ;) but I'll also be the first guy to come up and tell you that I thought that such and such fill was sweet.

I didn't read the whole thread but mine are:

Deaf musicians intent on making you equally deaf.

People who think they are going to hit it big via their sub par ripoff originals band.

When you spend 45 minutes learning a complex part as written to have the band say "Can you just root that part instead?"

People who have a vendetta against "new-fangled computers" Ie: My bass POD

People who care about image more than music

When I ask the song writer "What kind of feel do you want for this?" and he says "Whatever you like." then I proceed to play a groovy part for 2 months before we are about to record and he goes "Can you just do like a 1/4 note walk on that instead?", "Sure pal but I wish you would have told me sooner than 2 minutes before we record the damn thing, like maybe when I asked you originally."

Man, if I had a dollar for everytime that's happened to me...

That is the first thing I ask and have never been told they have in mind.

Getting told to turn down your stage volume when you haven't even turned on your amp,

and

Getting dirty looks from your bandmates whenever there is a burst of fuzz or static through the PA, and your bass isn't even plugged in yet.
