How do you play roots and 5ths? Middle and pinky? That's just for you flashy types who think you need to play notes other than the root and the 5th.

My left hand got crushed in a work accident. After the reconstructive surgery, my ring finger isn't quite what it was before - it's not totally aligned with the other three, and the joint capsule is gone, so I don't have independent movement of it. So, when I play, it lays on top of my pinky for reinforcement.
Frankly, I think I'm damned lucky that I had a world-class surgeon, and that I still have any use of that hand at all.
So, if it pisses you off, well ... tough.

edit: i play root+fifth pointer and pinky because it's more comfortable for me.

- Having our vocalist complain he loses energy and momentum when the strings noodle about for a bit, then hanging around and waiting for him after he dissappears for a "short" (45 minute) cigarette break, at his own house!!!
overcooked steak= rare people, rare
For sure! Sometimes she'll come up while I'm playing and rake her hand across the string a few times, making that "Gwoar" sound...then runs off giggling, or my 6yo will "sneak up" and twiddle a tuning peg mid song...thats a good one - I'm going "what the heck happened there?" before I realise or get a confessionjady said:#1 go little girl!!!!![]()
