Ok I went on a little Sherlock mission, I checked out what Fender Japanese lefties are available...
Only the JB62/LH/3TS which leads to the right handed version JB62/3TS

The only problem is, why the saddles are threaded in the Anime? Mistake? Everyone referring to the JB62/LH/3TS as the BASS and no one was talking about the JB62-US or the VSP (Except one weird site that didn't even explain why)

I must know for 100% what is the bass for I shall order it!

yea, i watch K-on. All the instruments in the show are based off real ones and use the real Brand names, instead of sound-alike brand names. So far I have seen Fender, Gibson, Korg, Roland, Marshall, Yamaha and Peavey.

And I did a LOLWTF on the "Fender" Les Paul... Giitah!

From what I can guess, I don't believe the JB62/LH/3TS is canon. The animators needed SOMETHING to work with, and with the greatest amount of detail put into that 3D model in the intro, I'd have to say that's what the studio had hanging around and decided on that.

Kinda confusing, I know. I guess you'll have to decide on your OWN, what bass Mio uses. Make it YOUR canon. After all, no one else will ever be able to tell you otherwise, unless Kyo-ani shapes up and starts being more consistent with their instrument portrayals.

I mean, just read what Justice posted. One of those sites is claiming Mio's bass is an actual '62 vintage. Like she'd have the money for THAT. :rolleyes: No way she'd simply window-shop at Mugi's store if she were that loaded.

Personally, I would go for the JB62-US. Less Japanese, perhaps, but not a single thing about the bass can be contradicted.

It's not a vintage 62 for sure, it can be a JB62-US but it even might be the VSP version, it's hard to tell, the threaded bridge confusing it all :(

Well, after searching a lot the only conclusion I have is that it's the JB62, the only left handed model alive is the JB62/LH and no JB62-US/LH or JB62-VSP/DMC/LH.

Though there is the thing with the threaded bridge, they probably combined or something and in some pictures the bridge is with threadning and sometimes without

Well, I fell out of anime many years ago, and was never into figure collecting, but I had to look this one up. Having a little bass player girl on my desk sounded kinda cool, but probably not $100 worth of cool (to me, at least). For what it's worth, though:

A little late to the game, but it looks like we at least have a name for Mio's bass.
It really puts the "beisu" in "E-li-za-be-su!"
