I've heard they sound very similar to each other. I think Jet Harris has used both.
John Paul Jones used a Burns sixer early on, not sure about Jet Harris I thought he used a detuned Fender Jaguar as well as a Fender Bass VI.

I had a Steinberger with a bass TransTrem. Should have kept that bass.
Kahler makes a 5 string Hybrid. www.wammiworld.com has them for sale for @$200. The real pain is getting a qualified luthier to install it and set it up as it requires routing, as well as fill in, like on newer Ibanez with mono-rail individual bridges. I had mine done at www.thelowend.net in Nashville, TN. They were reasonable with the price and had it back to me in about 4 weeks. Good Luck.
Yes, you should have. Best bass trems in existence.

So essentialy, get a khaler, set it up left handed, find some one reliable... What all goes in to actually installing the khaler?
whats the boxy looking thing to the right of the bridge?
How's the warlock? I have heard that unless you get one of those $1k+ guitars/basses that B.C. Rich is horrible.
make no mistake about the kahler though...it certainly adds some weight to the bass. those things are HEAVY!!!
