Basses that just sound BAD...

Well, I have an Ibanez SR640 (I just got it like a week ago) and its just fine... just I want a frickin 3 band EQ! As for BAD sounding basses, I HATEHATEHATE Jay Turser basses. I owned a really s***ty one for 6 months, and it had the 2 knobs, volume/tone. I could either have a semi-normal sound with the tone at 0 (Still sounded wierd) or a really deep sound, which is useful, but I need more options, dammit! But the main reason: NO BALANCE. OK, this isnt about sound, but it was so top heavy, I wanted to trade it like 3 months after getting it! And well I did, for 150 smackers!!!! I bought it for 220! And luckily, I've never played a rogue and thanks to you guys I never will :)

I own a SR 400, which sounds decent, but plays horribly. I also own an Ergodyne, which was a gift and I have to say it's the worst bass I've ever heard/played in my entire life. It sounds like an elastic band being plucked over an extremely old tin can!!! Just Horrible!!! My gf bought it from a friend of hers for $300 canadian which works out to about .30 cents U.S.:D

The guy said he bought it for $1100 in Toronto brand new. I think he TOTALLY got jipped for this piece of crap. I'm just glad he didn't try to sucker her in to paying more for it!

The funny thing is that all those lines are from movies. That one's from They Live and a lot of the others are from the Evil Dead series. Still, it was a great game.

was a great game? No IS a great game IMO, 'scpecially Duke 3D , but the new Manhattan project game isn't really good

I love my RBX 260!!!! Yamaha has now discontinued them and stuff...but mine plays great and actually has a wonderful slap tone, great quality for a cheaper bass...Also i played a RBX 260f (the fretless Model) and it was really cool but im saving for either a used Warwick Thumb 4 BO or a new Ampeg Head orr cab to replace my workingmans stuff...Just thought id defend my RBX

I'll stand up for Soundgears as I own two of them and they have proven to be the most value I've gotten from Ibanez and mid range brands.......*braces for mud slinging*

I only make them sound as good as I can though....*sigh*

I haven't liked any Ibanez basses yet, tonewise. Some of them played real well.

Guitar Center had a used Pedula that I had a real hard time finding a tone that I liked. It played real well and was gorgeous.

Warwicks sound pretty good, but all of the ones I have tried felt really weird to me. It was almost like the fretboard was crescent shaped.

I have tried really hard to like Fender Precisions. I just can't get into them. I don't want to say that they sound bad, because I know they don't... But they are defiantely not me.

I love Eb-O's, you just got to know how to use them. It's simple,

YOU DON'T TRY TO MAKE THEM SOUND MODERN!

If you do, your missing the point of an EB-O.
there supposed to sound really fat and muddy.
great for old blues and reggea.

I have plaed tonds of really cheap basses that sounded crappy.. but you figured out just by looking at them, but one day I tried a couple of Dean Rhapsody's.. and despite they looked pretty nice, I mean.. they had active preamp, EMG PUp's (i guess), etc.. they just sounded like crap.. The tone was just too weak.. NO punch, no bright.. etc..

Actually I believe its Rouge by Squire by Fender.

Yeah, its the budget version of Squire......

DONT ACT SO SUPRISED!

I would probably have to vote for Rogue BTW.
