Basses that look fun to play

While it isn't as wild as some of the basses posted in this thread, this looks like it would be fun to play. This is JMJ on the cover of Bass Player magazine (October 2008).

Otherwise, the Fender Road Worn 60s Jazz looks enjoyable. Although I'm not a huge fan of body relicing, there's something about a vintage tint on the neck that makes it look like it'd be comfortable. I also like the aging on the tuning pegs. I can't believe how nice of a bass the Road Worn Jazz actually is. The price is kind of outrageous for a MIM Fender but it played very nicely and sounded great. I'm definitely keeping my eye open for a good deal on a used 3TS RW. You can't argue against a comfortable, awesome sounding instrument, even if it has a controversial relic job (which really isn't that bad).

And, of course, there are MTD 635s that look very fun. Six and seven string basses generally look fun, regardless of the make and model. I think it has to do with how the bridge looks with six big strings and wide string spacing. There are some basses that show up on eBay frequently called Raven West. They look like they'd be enjoyable instruments.

Same sentiment. I saw the pic before. I get what the builder/designer went for, but I guess I just don't appreciate it. But those are just my thoughts. If other people like it, that's fine also.

I think you're giving non musicians less credit than they deserve. I think most people would be able to spot a tiny body and massive headstock, even if they don't know the names of the respective parts.

But that's just my opinion.

I also like the Status Streamline. I never seem to find a store that stocks this one or a person selling a used version. It must be one of those things you just have to order from them directly.
