I've had a bad hankering for an Aerodyne and a (real) Jaguar bass. I recently bought an Aerodyne body and put a fretless neck on it. Still need electronics, thinking of EMG plug and play. I look everyday for a Jaguar body.

Back in October I got a brand new Satin Lake Placid Blue American Performer Precision P/J. I upgraded it with a hand made custom control unit using CTS, Vitamin-Q, and Switchcraft components and upgraded the pups with Aguilar's hum canceling P/J set. I also added a custom 4 ply black pearl/white/black/white pickguard to it.

Then by luck of the draw I also took a trade in on a Peavey fretless I had and got another Precision, a 2019 Player Series in a 3 tone sunburst that had been upgraded with a Fender Custom Shop '62 P pup, a gold anodized brushed aluminum pickguard, and hipshot drop tuner. Plus got the original pups and pickguard that it came with as well. October was a very good month

After those two basses I really lost a lot of gas. Between those two and my Fender Kingman acoustic, I'm covered pretty well in whatever tone I need. My other 4 basses are feeling pretty neglected.

But there's been a bass for the past year and half or so that is always stored away in the back of my mind. Problem is getting to put my hands on one first since they come from overseas.

With a stacked volume/tone for each pup and a switch for the humbucker to run in serial/parallel/single coil modes, I think it would be pretty versatile. A custom spec'd Maruszczyk "Mopped B"

I’m a man of simple tastes. A fretted Fender Player Jazz would have me tickled. I love the sound of my Squier VM Fretless Jazz with TIJFs but I tend to find myself missing frets pretty often.

Edit to say- I consider this to be a my “realistic” dream bass that actually has a chance of happening. My dream bass is a USA Geddy Jazz but I can’t see spending $1,650.00 on a bass. Heck my Squier is my most expensive bass in almost 16 years of playing, and it rang in at a whopping $300.00.

A Nash bass and I think it was the sunburst you have pictured. Sold before I could snag it.
So either a Nash P-bass or a Custom Shop one.

I already have a Dingwall Combustion - which I adore. A good price on an Afterburner II would be difficult to refuse.

At some point, I should probably get a J-Bass... but that's a more custom situation. Standard J-Basses and I often don't get along

That redwood, and the one you posted, are the only ones I've seen. I'm scared to look around his website any further. For some reason I think we'll both lose or win, however you look at it, the rock paper scissors thing. I see a trip to Memphis this year, probably in July around my b-day.

Some type of shell pink or surf green Fender Custom Shop relic. Sherwood green, burgundy mist metallic or ice blue metallic would also do. Light relic and Quartersawn headstock.

I think is specd a basic one of those and it was like 1400 usd. Super basic tho.
