Jimmy Lea (Slade) Played the single best Bass note of all time. Slade Live LP Born to be Wild cover right after the air raid siren.

Derek Holt ( Climax Blues Band) Mr. Smooth. Very subtle, but the dude rocks.

Ray Shulman (Gentle Giant) Great performer. Even better bassist.

Chico Huff. I really like his playing. He's been around for a while, and yet I didn't really hear anyone talk about him. (Or maybe I just didn't listen.)

From Philadelphia. He's amazing. I sang harmonies on a track that he played on once; his playing made the song. I just listened to that track yesterday and have barely thought of it in years until I discovered it online a few months ago. Wonderful player.

I vaguely recall that ARS opened for Kansas when I saw them at the Hollywood Sportatorium back around '79-80. Might've been a year earlier, I don't recall for . . . Reasons.

IMO the biggest gap around here is Latin. Rock centric, with a little Abercrombie and Funk, some actual R&B/soul, plenty of jazz and classical on the DB side. But nobody ever talks about Cachao.
