Immortals image is self-ironic and their lyrics arent satanic, but more the cultic and myth of black metal.

And all this time I thought I was laughing AT them, not WITH them...

hehe, i laugh with them, they are not like the other black metal band whos roaming around, Immortal just take their self-image with a large doze of humor. but do not mix their image with their music humorwize, the music is great!

i just need to post this pic, its so funny! :D

I actually got that pic on the famous ruthless reviews "10 worst black metal pics of all time" page. Its a classic.

I really like several of the bands on there, but sometimes I have to wonder about what they hell they are thinking when they do these photoshoots....

wow, that's pretty "freaked out".... Is his tone, something that is really that sought after? No jab, just curious.

I have heard from cats that are Mingus-o-philes, that he had a temper that was pretty fierce... so who knows, yeah that sounds about right.

Call me crazy, but I've never heard a Rage/Audioslave/Timmy C. song that 'does it' for me. Tone, schone, phoney-cologne is all I have to say, haha. From what I've read, Mingus and Jamerson were a couple of the wildest cats. I'd Almost mention Flea in the same sentence - but then I'd think about it... and I wouldn't ;)

Back on topic...
On occasion D. Schools sports some mean faces
(I'd still take him at ping-pong though, hehe) ...

Who's gonna dig up the meanest Allen Woody shot?@!$%
I always crack up when Oteil talks about being Afraid of Woody on the Rising Low flick.

One thing you need to take into account with metal... most metal guys are dorks... cool dorks, but dorks none the less. King Diamond doesn't really go home night, hang his coat of evil up next to his wall of heads and sip the blood of virgins while watch "Touched (in a naughty place) by an Angel." He cleans off his make up, chills out, has a beer.

Theatrical metal/Black metal is no different than a scary movie. The writers of scary movies are usually just dorks obsessed with goofy evil. But if a real demon of some sort were to approach, they wouldn't worship it... they'd be freaked out. The band I'm in sings about Evil Warlocks, Evil Forests of Evil, Slaying of Evil Kings... but with us it's more clearly self mocking. Or maybe that's just because our singer laughed during portions of our first show after saying something about "blood washing the streets."
