Bassists who like their guitarists?

Both my guitarists are great players, encourage me to help write songs and actually ask me to solo from time to time. Ridiculous, I know!

Last show I borrowed an SVT-VR having never used one and had it cranked up much louder than I thought it would be. I had thunderous mids exploding the venue. After the show I said holy **** I can't believe how loud my bass was! And their reply was yeah it was awesome. :bassist:

I wouldn't know where I would be without my guitarist. He and I started playing together 5 years ago, now we play in 3 bands together. Always open to ideas, but also has many of his own.
Off stage he is the most agreeable guy, as well.

Our motto has been pretty much, you don't know until you try it onstage. This led to an awesome occurrence, where we worked out that a song needs 2 basses in it, so out comes my back up bass, best solo I've heard him play ever.

For a time I struggled with our last guy and had to change, now wishing I did it sooner. New 25 YO guy is great, great player, great tones, builds his own pedals and guitars, realizes that you don't have to be louder than a Boeing 777, etc. He also has a great stage prescence.

He's got touches of Clapton, Page and Fripp all at his mental disposal. I love it, which is why we're back in the studio! At least now I won't have to "overdub" the guitar parts myself.

Not only is the guitarist in our band good, he's a very cool dude! Besides, he's also a martial artist with a 7th degree Black Belt, so I'd better like him! :D

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste! :cool:

I would like my guitarist if he didn't say this when I was playing my parts on my own:

"So that's what you play? That's pretty good. I don't normally notice because I only listen to the vocals and drums"

That bit him in the arse later on when he came in half way through a riff after he dropped out because he wasn't listening to me for when it started again, instead listening to a consistant drum beat...

The guitarist in my band is great...... when he's sober, for some reason at 27 he hasn't learned the words "NO I don't need anymore" yet..... but other than that he's a great musician, and we "click" musically.... so he's cool.... but also a "tard" outside of music, and a bit eccentric, not like wearing fishnets ripped up the side and make-up or sacrificing chickens... just a bit more off than most people
