I'm pretty sure I already have a number. Outdoor gig at a brewery:
Indoors at said brewery pretending I know how to play that thing (and a band full of beardy weirdys)

Not sure why all of the other pictures are still attached. I was trying to post last night on my phone, and the photo would not post right side up. I thought I had deleted them, but they stayed on as a constant reminder, that I was correct, in not choosing photo editing, as a career.
So after many decades of having it, I just cut my very gray goat and stash off per request of Mrs Stewie. She stated it makes me look ten years younger. Geez...I am going to be 69 in a few weeks. Life has gone by so fast.

Just perusing through the posts in this thread, and I noticed that their is not much talk about how we bearded bassists take care of our awesome facial hair.
Since other threads on TB, have unequivocally determined, the best bass, strings, amp, cab, pedal, etc. for any genre, or venue, I was thinking maybe we can discuss, our beard regimen.
I have kept some form of beard, whether just a slight stubble all the way to a Duck Dynasty worthy monster, for the past 20 years. Mrs, DT, along with my current employer, decreed, that if I am to conceal my true facial identity, I must keep my beard a "reasonable" length, and well groomed. No using my mustache as a soup strainer or storing snacks for later under my chin, etc..
I was just wondering to what lengths, other BBists, go to maintain their manly manes?
Personally, I don't use any specialty beard washes, or conditioners, but I do use beard oils, balms and mustache wax.
My personal favorite right now is Kingsman Holy Grail. https://kingsmenpremium.com/products/holy-grail-oil-1
The oil and balm combination keep my beard soft but manageable. However, I find their mustache wax to be too "soft" to hold my upper lip covering properly.
My next favorite is Bearded Bastard Morocco. Their wax is very good at giving me an all day "handlebar"

I use a boar hair brush, and my favorite is honest amish beard balms. But I often neglect.... I've tried other balms, and the heavy duty amish, but they dont seem to do as good as the regular honest amish. I like the leave in conditioner thing vs. oils, as it tends to get better coverage for me. But that very well could be user error.
I’ve tried a couple from them, but I didn’t care for their scent. Just personal preference.
I tried the Fedora oil/balm from https://smalltownbeards.com/ and couldn’t stand the smell. Reminded me of a musty moldy attic
that's one thing I kind of like about the amish balm/conditioner. It's relatively bland. Not really scented, so it wont clash with other products like cologne.

I use oil after I shower and a beard balm just before I leave. I just trim flyaways every time I notice them and that's it. I really struggled to find a barber that could trim my beard the way I like it, so I got a really good set of Wahl clippers and learned to trim/fade it myself
I'm in the UK, so my experiences will be different, but I quite like the Mo Bros stuff https://www.mobros.co.uk/ especially their oils. The grandkids bought me a "kit," made by Bulldog, and the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] is quite decent.
I've just started on this stuff, "Link Removed," which is pretty nice, and along the same lines I want to try the "L'Oreal Men Expert Barber Club Beard & Face Wash," too.
