Bassists you just can't watch

Yeah, I don't quite get the terrible Pete Wentz playing. A producer didn't call him out on that? Forget producer, the drummer didn't say something? Like, hey man, how about trying to play something I can hear?

I don't care for any bassist or guitar player that does that thing when they swing the bass around their shoulder and catch it, like holla-hooping the bass.

+1000 on Pete Wentz.I hate that poser **** they exude.The spinning around constantly and stuff.Awful.
Some others:
Steffan Lessard.The way he stands and just rocks from side to side.Looks like a tool.Pity.Great player and a great band!

The guy from Manu Chao's band on his latest tour.ugh watching him shout "hey hey hey etc" on every song got very annoying very fast.

Chi Cheng from Deftones.Again it's a pity.Great bad, good bassist and rocks out on stage and looks cool it's just when he does the backup "vocals"(shouting) it shows he's got some nasty ass teeth!Nice guy though!

Trujillo: He looks plain stupid, and like stated before, like a gorilla playing bass, also the way he throws his head look even worse.
Cliff Burton: I cant stand his right hand technique, it looks very awkward and unproffesional.
Fieldy: Pretty much same reason as Trujillo.

Of all the "proffesional" bassists i have seen, its only these 3 that marks out as "unlookable" so if that is a sign that they have their "own style" so be it.

Ofcourse, all this is IMHO.

The basslines are just so boring, My woamn is sick of me commenting 'he should have put a fill there' 'why didnt he do a run?' etc. I've become a musical snob!

They can't replace him. He's what attracts all the teenage girls to their concerts. That's the reason he's in the band - he can sell himself and his looks whereas the *actual band* can try to sell their music. That's what's so wrong about a lot of the "mainstream" bands. They are simply selling their faces. It should be the music selling itself, rather than you having to endlessly promote your pretty face. It's so sad and it gets me all worked up. Oh look - I pissed myself. I'd better go clean that up...

The bassist out of Toto, saw them on a live dvd and he was holding a single note for a few minutes while looking like he's taking a dump. I mean come on, we're is the stress in that. I'm not exaggerating either, he was in absolute meltdown.

All of course while the guitarist is pulling of incredible solos and smiling calm. Just doesn't look right!

I must say this. I can't stand Gary Willis and his too light touch. His sound uff awful to me. Ok his technique is superb but he lost that punch.

As of April 2006, Alex Katunich has been playing music with a Southern California-based jam/funk band named Willie's Nerve Clinic. His first official gig since his departure from Incubus was April 6, 2006 at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California

He's responsible for their first hit and a lot of their songs though. Pete Wentz probably has more punk cred than the rest of the band, being in several smaller bands in the mid-90s. At the very least, I give him credit for being so active with so many projects: book writing, doing movies, having a record label, etc. I can't say whether I like any of that stuff, though.

If you ask me, that whole band just blows.
