How about Kip Winger NOT playing his bass in those old videoes? Butthead: His teeth are whiter than white huh huh...

+1 on Verdine. I love his playing though.
+1 on the strumming the strings up by the 15th fret.
I just avoid watching FOB so I don't worry about it.

man pete wentz makes me sick. SICK!

+1000 on ben kenney playing dirk lance. that is my absolute favorite so far. incubus will never be the same to me without dirk, they used to be sooo awesome. I still listen to fungus amongus regularly, one of my favorite cd's

I completely disagree with whoever said Myung, for some reason he looks really bad ass to me when he plays.

also disagree with whoever said claypool. I just saw him 2 days ago (for the 5th time) and he is one of my favorites to see live, he is weird but its a lot of fun.

as for me... I'm going to have to go with Steve Bailey. Wooooow the dude is AMAZING at fretless. He is a complete and utter master when it comes to harmonics, false harmonics, and chords combining the two with regular notes. but he always looks like a stay at home dad from the 80's! Dude, you're one of the most amazing fretless players of all time, you can update your look every now and then!

I know that as I
started a thread saying Mikey Way
is so awesome but as I've gotten
better at my bass, i find his playing
annoying. Because he only uses the top 2
The G string and the D string and only does one rhythm.:bassist:

yes, check out his David Gage Double Bass instructional DVD!!!! I got this recently, and those comments, are ohh so wrong....

and that band "Complete" has to be some of the worst s*** I have seen recently...I try and keep myself as s*** free as possible, musically that is, now a days....

Dude, I love post-dirk lance incubus. I think dirk was obviously a good player, but I felt like he held the band back by always wanting to play a similar type of groove. After morning view, which was a departure from their earlier stuff, I think dirk was upset he didn't have any songs where he could let loose. Besides, I totally dig Ben Kenney's tone and think he's done some very creative stuff.

I loved Dirk Lance's playing, but there are certain tracks where I think, trying to see the whole thing as a producer (not that I am one, but would like), that Dirk sometimes was very close to the limit... Still, I miss him, and there's always a big tension when someone leaves, and a new one arrives...
