Basson Cabs = Bad Customer Service

And we have no proof it didn't happen. Just offering a reasonable, general idea (note: no names used). I'm on neither side here, just trying to cut some fuses instead of pouring gasoline on them. ;)

Perhaps I should get into the fuse cutting as well.

But . . .

I'm viewing the 2 sides of the arguement are:
1/ this is the way it happened.
2/ this may be the way it happened. Or it may not be. We, only having heard one side, do not know. We can not know.

Alright. I have no reason to believe the OP is anything but honest. There could be more to the story, who knows, but there's no reason to think he's being dishonest and there's certainly no basis to say that "if he was honest from the get-go, there would have been no bashing". Not only is that quantifying the quasi-rude responses but it's calling the OP dishonest. Sorry I'm going to give him benefit of the doubt. Innocent until proven guilty and whatnot;)

Did I say the op was being dishonest?

And where have I bashed the op? Point that out please.

Maybe honest wasn't the right word.

The OP left important details out of his first post, and repeatedly declined to provide said details when asked for them. He also seemed got really defensive really quick (thus the "irate" comment),

To the OP:
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. My guess is that someone who was a little bit too green told you he could do what you wanted, and then when they checked with the higher-ups, they were told it was not possible. Ideally, they would have just told you "no" from the start. It was probably just a mistake. Those happen, and I would hardly call that poor customer service. I don't know the whole story. I'm not claiming to. But if the OP treated the Basson people with the same level of respect he's given us here, I would have probably told him to **** off too.

LOL; welcome to sidebars.

18er, while Jauqo is taking it on the chin for trying to help you and the company you were trying to deal with, I've a question for you:
Why did it take you 10 hours after being asked to give fair detailing about what did go down between you & Bassoon?

I noted that the bashing was slowly ramping up before you did & then nearly immediately subsided after you did. (& then the 'bashing about bashing' stuff started up, & here we are now.)

So now that the story is out, can we all agree the communications described are not the hallmarks of good customer service?

Nope.

A story is never correctly out when only one person is allowed to tell their side of story.

Your non-sequitur is true, but it doesn't support your response. I wonder why you believe the communications described are the hallmarks of good customer service.

No he didn't. He came off as a guy who had a less than stellar customer service experience in his view. He could have posted the details earlier but his fear of them knowing who it was is pretty valid. How many people called Basson and asked for tolex? Probably just one:D

Not that there is any need to fear, but people like anonymity:). My guess is he didn't want to burn his bridges in case, as he put it, he wanted to get a cab later on.

Dan

Finally a chance to agree with Dan! ;)

Good points. With hindsight, changing 'tolex' with 'minor cab mod' or 'small cosmetic change' should provide enough anonymity.

I don't think Jauqo's expressing he believes what you claim he does. I think he is unwilling to admit the situation that you then ask his opinion of.

Any interest in looking at OP's communications flow in this thread? If looking for data, that's all the data we have. What anyone's said about Bassoon isn't data, it's hearsay. Including OP and Jauqo.

Post 44, which I quoted in my last post. If your "nope" isn't a response to my question and, more specifically, isn't your response to my question, then why quote me in your post?

You are funny :)

So now that the story is out, can we all agree the communications described are not the hallmarks of good customer service?

This is my response to your post which I did indeed quote.

Nope.

A story is never correctly out when only one person is allowed to tell their side of story.

Instead of trying discredit me understand what you read.

Never expected an intrinsic gratification in arguing about arguing.

Last comments to me?

My last post here;

Thanks for (most of) your input. Now everybody at Basson thinks that that guy who wanted tolex was a loose cannon. Not how I'd like to be thought of by a bass cab company. One who had my full stamp of approval until their slip-up.

See you all out there and on Talkbass!
