Bergantino AE212 - Just Released

Otto, I know this isn't apples to apples but how does the DNS-112N voicing compare to the AE212 in terms of smoothness, punch, low end extension, and mid voicing if the amp is adjusted to make volume levels equal? Are these two cabs better suited for different styles of music? Thx...

You know I had the DNA pack so I never did a comparison, I had read that the cab has the same Berg sound so today I decided to compared it to the AE212 and I was blown away the DNA 112 sounded exactly like the berg. I mean I couldn't tell apart at all. I connect them together and WoW Huge sound since both are equally in sound i thought I had two bergs. I tell you if I didn't need the cash I would keep this cab. If anyone would get the oportunity to try this cab they will get blown away about the identical bergantino sound

It's totally not safe, even for listeners at your gig. Look what it did to this poor fellow when he heard his first Berg.

Except for that one thing, they're a nice-looking pair of trousers though, wouldn't you say?

Check it out; Vic & Munjibunga

I am taking about the sound comparison between the Bergantino and DNA Cabs, NOT the fact of 2 vs.1, 112.

Before u come up with you own opinions find a DNA cab and compare them.

But check it out; since you use that picture toward my opinion I would say first "Respect other as you want to be respected"

you tell me how you want to be respected?

Mike(Munjibunga) and Vic are teasing you because your opinion of the DNA cab is a little over excited especially with you trying to sell it. They're not challenging your opinion.

That picture was posted by Eublet and quoted by Munji, it has nothing to do with you, or respecting your opinion.

Read a little slower before you jump to conclusions.

Oh ok, thanks for clarify that to me. yea i guess it reads funny, but I just had to pass alone how similar this cab is on sound. Yea I am trying to sale it but is because I don't need two cabs, else I would had keep it.

No big deal man;). Glad I could help. Just didn't want you thinking there was more to things than just ribbing you.

My point is that you sound like someone who is trying to sell a DNA cab. Am I wrong? So what did you think of my comment about the trousers?

It wouldn't surprise me if the DNA sounded a lot like the Berg. Honestly, many of the cabs I have compared are more closely alike than they are different.

+1....IMO sometimes those tiny tonal differences arent worth the hassle of the GAS...depends what it is.

My current cab requirements is for something that can sound as meaty as a 4x10, with more of a traditional 'tone' eg no excessive high mids...(even though some users love those high mids!).

I keep thinking of sticking with what I have, but a Berg is something Id like. The HT112ER/EX stack is probably what Id like, but I dont want the weight with two separate cabs. In that scenario id rather go for the HS410....because I can put it on casters and it has a small footprint.

The AE112 x 2 is out, because of the AE212!

IF the AE212 can get me close to a big, smooth mids, punchy type tone, and keep up with some 4x10s, I think it would probably tick all the boxes. But then I think, what about the Genz Uber 212 or the Neo X 212T.

It isnt so easy for me to test in the UK, so I have to ask daft questions!

Don't know about the DNA cabs... really not interested in that company at all due to a lot of reasons.

Man, I find EVERY cab I play to sound quite different, and that those differences GREATLY magnify themselves on stage in a live mix. A lot depends on the signal you are putting into them though. Of course, if you are playing a bass with old flatwound strings, for example, you won't even be putting frequencies into the cab in the areas where you hear the most difference across different executions (upper mids, treble, and low mids).

However, if you find, for example, that a Berg HS410 sounds pretty much the same as a Berg AE410, then things get VERY simple... just buy anything, get off of Talkbass, and enjoy playing:D;):hiding:

What about a guy who's only heard the Berg HT112 in person, in here yakking about the other Berg cabs? Hmm? Whatcha got to say about that????:smug:

:hiding:

:D

(Personally, if I ever get Berg level quality funds, I'm gonna try 'em all, just to annoy the salesman.)

Really, I should have said that a lot of the single-driver cabs I've played with are more alike than different. There are variances, but I wouldn't be surprised that any two 112's sounded a lot alike. I wouldn't be surprised if they sounded worlds different either.

This has not been my experience at all, but...

...I do agree with this. I wouldn't automatically assume any pair would be the same just because they were 112 cabs, and I also wouldn't automatically assume they'd be very different just because they were from different manufacturers.

Just boils down to this; As always, really, with ANY cab, you just have to audition ones that sound interesting to you based on comments from folks who are like-minded, and go from there.

In my case, the 112 cabs I have the most experience with are the Aggie GS112's, Avatar 112's (two diff ones), Berg AE112's, Epifani UL112's, Schroeder (older, not "light") 112's, and now the newer GK Neo112-II's. They all sound VERY different to me.

My poor old ears hear differences when AB'ing. And my ae212 doesn't sound anything like the 212's I've had before. I guess I'm worse off since I spent the bucks on the best I could get when I could have been just as happy with something from a less expensive manufacturer.
