Thank you so much! It has been one of my favourite reviews. I liked it so much, I actually went out and bought the B|Amp after! I've been using it solidly since with a pair of HD112 cabinets and have been very pleased indeed!
The use of DSP 'Speaker Profiles' has really resonated with me and I totally get it. It's something I've been trying to do with my racks of bass gear for years, then Jim comes along and squeezes it all in to one small but mighty box!!

Also I would recommend you turn the Aux mix knob fully CW for the O/D effect. In the upcoming firmware update, the O/D will not go thru the blend circuit so it will always be a 100% "wet" effect.

Hi Mark,

I'm actually re-thinking not allowing the O/D to go thru the blend, as I have discovered there are many players who are using the blend for the O/D. And in the current configuration you can still get there (100% O/D) just by turning the blend knob fully CW.

That being said, I am testing a new firmware which warms up Dist2 and makes it much less aggressive than Dist1. Anyone who has a registered B|AMP and would like to give it a go, just email me at [email protected] with 4.31C9 in the subject line and I'll get it to you. This version still utilizes the Aux Volume as a blend knob and has the new parallel compression.

Hello Jim... first let me say that I really love your cabinets, I have a REF210 and a CN112. I just ordered the B|Amp and would like to know if the REF and CN series would match okay, I'm assuming so but just looking for any recommendations or insights. Is there an option have a custom profile for each cabinet being played in a stack together?

I think parallel compression and O/D are very desirable features. While I'm digging the Forte, the parallel compression on the B|Amp is certainly a selling point for the more expensive box (as are the memory presets).

I just loaded 4.31C9 and really like the Dist 2.. I usually just use the distortion with an octave pedal for a cool synthy type of sound, but may use this along with the clean and the O/D depending on the tune...

And the speaker profiles are great if you have Bergantino enclosures. Just an excellent amp all the way around.

+1 The Dist 2 in 4.31C9 is much more transparent eq-wise and less aggressive than recent versions. More switchable in and out of it, so that it compliments your existing tone setup rather than creating an entirely different sound. Very useful for kicking it up a notch beyond O/D, without going into full on hard clip distortion. More like a natural extension of the O/D. Nice!

Is it possible to set speaker profiles for two different cabinets simultaneously? I have REF210 and a CN112. How, or can profiles be set for each type of cabinet connected to the B|Amp?
