Beautiful...but a little heavy for me. I'd prolly go for neo version.

For those who have tried both HD and the NV cans, how would describe to tone difference between the two?
At least on the models I've tried, the NV cabs had slow roll off on lows with a tighter feel and less low-end extension content in their voicing/tuning. Feeding the NV's a fair amount of power gives a a very strong presence without the cab ever becoming overly booming. The top end on the non-T version was a little less bright. The HD's have a mule kick and some serious low end extension with full mids. I also think they are a bit more present on the high end (upper mids and highs) with a very highly detailed voicing characteristic that almost jumps out at you. That's how I hear them, YMMV!

not always but sealed cabs tend to be tighter and not go as low as ported cab. The smaller the sealed cab is the higher the speakers resonance frequency (RF) value will increase due to the air inside the cab pushing back on the speaker sometimes creating a tighter sound than some ported cabs.
THis cussion effect helped old speakers survive in the first ampeg 8x10 which i think had a paper bobbin and rated at 30w each or 240w for the 8x10 cab at 4 ohm driven by a 300W tube amp. Also these old ampeg cabs did not go low and you never heard the fundamental of the low E string. Spending less energy on the lows the ampeg was loud for its given wattage as it pumped out much more 120Hz than 60Hz which are much more audible in a mix and to the human ear.

Most bass cabs have very little of the fundamental note of the low B and E, below 50Hz in general. And If you want to get those clean lows you need a well designed cab, high rated speakers with a long excursion and a lot of power.
Pushing the bass knob (often centered at 40-50Hz) on modern amps are a no no in my book for maintaining a good stage sound. WHen you start pushing "air" (40-50Hz) the stage gets filled with this annoying rumble which you can't hear but you get stressed because stage volume is too high.. Its the same with a 4x12 guitar cab on smaller stages. The bass can easily get out of hand.
