I am looking to buy a new 1x12 cabinet for EB and DB. I currently own the Avatar SB112 and it "farts" out at mid to high volume with my passive fretless Jazz Bass. The SB112 sounds pretty good with my double bass through my GK800RB, but I would like an upgrade. If anyone has any recommendations for a 1x12 cabinet that sounds good with EB and DB that can handle fairly high volume that would be great.

There are lots of threads on this topic if you search this forum a bit. You'll probably come across votes for the CXL-112, Wizzy, and Wizzy M-line from EA, and also the Bergantino. Here is an example that will link you to even more links.
I just got an M-Line Wizzy and am very satisfied with the sound I get out of it! I'm using it with an Acoustic Image Clarus. I would highly recommend this cabinet.
I own the EA 12 M-Line and the CXL12. I love the M-Line, but it does not go nearly loud enough for electric. The CXL goes VERY loud and when EQ'd is the best doubling speaker that I've played. ( and I'm a total gear geek)

There's a limit to what a single 12 or 10 can do. If you're playing loud you may want to look into using two cabinets which will give you more volume.
Two of the main variables that allow more volume from a speaker are the cone radiating area and the x max. The x max is the maximum excursion of the cone. Since volume is the amount of air a speaker moves, the same cone area with twice as long excursion would move twice as much air. To control the longer excursion a more powerful motor is needed. ( coil and magnet ) For instance, Hartke ( ouch) makes lightweight and heavier 4 x 10 cabs. The heavier one goes much louder because the speakers have longer excursions and heavier magnets. I have the EA M-Line and CXL12. The CXL goes MUCH louder because of the bigger excursion and heavier magnet. This is why a 12 cabinet can go louder than a 15 if the 12 has a much bigger magnet and x max. The only caveat is that a larger air chamber ( cabinet) is needed . It's all simple physics.

Like many here, I've spent some years doing this exact search. I've settled on the Wizzy M-line. I run a 500-watt Clarus Series III into it, and it has stood up, volume-wise, to some ridiculously loud situations with the bass guitar. The quality of sound with the DB is also about the best of any cabinet I've tried.
I pair it with a regular Wizzy 12 on those occasions when I feel I need to move a lot of air. The result is something quite remarkable, much greater than the sum of the parts from the standpoint of sound quality.
