best 8x10 for the price ?

If you don't mind weight I know the best sounding 8x10 cab I heard was BASSON, they put out a beast of a cab, 2000 watts RMS!

Ya, I hear they're really good but you have to have at least a 1500w amp or else the speakers fail from not being driven hard enough.

hey Im a big guy and I can Bench 300 ok but do I want my cab to weigh that much NO SIR . the genz benz Head im looking foward too but I havent heard the cabs

I picked up a Crate 810e (800 watts) used for $125.
Looked like crap but sounds killer.

Im gonna have to give a huge +1 to this one.... this was one of my first cabs (soon followed by a twin!!) and they are pretty killer. Rear ported 800 watts rms

IMO, the best 8x10 for the money is a used Ampeg. there are zillions of them out there and often go for around $350-500. they may not be the ultimate, but will get the job done 99% of the time. and when you're done with it, you can sell it and you'll get all of your money back. keep in mind that when you're buying any 8x10, even the lightest-weight ones are going to be heavy and require a fairly large vehicle to transport.

Berg NV610. Wheels, grab handle, spring handles on the side, comes at just a touch over 100 pounds and sounds nice.

Pick them up used for much less than new.

It's a good, not great, sounding 810, the Acoustic. I AB'd one at the store with a new Ampeg 810e and a Markbass CL108. Both the Ampeg and Markbass sounded a lot better.

That's actually good to know, I can scratch it off my 'gas' list.

As plentiful and cheap as old Ampegs seem to be, it's hard to go wrong. Bums me out since I spent like $800 on recones in mine, but hey, I think I'm happy
