Best awkward compliment you've gotten

No words. Just a big fat sloppy drawn out french kiss and and an all-in cuddle, arms and legs, from the girlfriend of one of my mates. Spoke volumes. I think I blushed:)

She unloaded on me, in no uncertain terms, in front of everybody, as we were coming off the stage. The room was packed. I didn't mind at all but her boyfriend wasn't so accommodating. We remain good friends — he was a student of mine. I never saw her again.

And we have a winner!!! #micdrop

This is a weird one. At a previous playing experience, I had to go to HR to be talked to about the list of complaints that were leveled at me by the drummer. The drummer was afraid that we were going to get rid of him, so he made an HR complaint against me so that we couldn't get rid of him or it would be considered "retaliation". Anyways, the drummer had a five page front and back list of complaints. The HR rep had to read them to me and try to keep a straight face. That was very difficult for her and her attempt at remaining impartial was my greatest awkward compliment.

Your band has an "HR Department"?

This one time I jumped onstage to jam on guitar with a band at a high school dance I was attending. I only played a couple tunes, but we RIPPED IT UP!!! Pretty sure that crowd had never heard anything like it before.

Afterwards, this girl (who had a big crush on me) comes up to me and says 'gee Marty, that was some interesting music'.

Then, she left with MY DAD.
