Best Band Names!

They did, at the Dave Karchich Reunion show!!!! With the Pilfers! And I WAS THERE! :D :D :D

But yeah...back to band names.

Maybe someone should use "Your Dad" or "Your Grandma"

I know, I missed it, I was in another state at the time, I'm so pissed! I also said this in another thread on here, that there was a band called Your Mom in the 70s and 80s, they were moderately successful.

Marvelous thread ... LOL.

Here's some I ran into:

SMEG MA
Luv Funken' Ewe
Dashboard Jesus
Dead Brain Orbiter
Polly the Wog Abuser
WC Flapper Valve
Date Wait Drug
Black Doorkeyus [ Black Orpheus ??? ]
Oopsamala [ must be Finnish ... ]
Turdbath
The Compulsive Shoe Sniffers
Phartiac Arrest
Annular EEK Lips
Seye kik Dogs
M T Bong Wood and the Koolers
Foaming Action
Cargopant Cobra
-------
I have to agree with the comment made about
FZ, just about any band could lift hundreds of great handles from him.
-----
One of my old bands was 'Alan and the Atonals'
later shortened to 'The Atonals'. Probably for obvious reasons ....
-------
The secret word for tonite is 'Mudshark'.
Mothers Live at the Fillmore.

Thorskhaus

US faves, which happen to all be punk bands:

"Jon Cougar Concentration Camp" (as Ad Nauseam said. They also tend to have some of the greatest album and 7" names ever, like "Asparagus in a Material World" and "Victoria's Secret Sauce." Now broken up, they were one of my favorite bands of high school days)

River City High (based off one of my favorite NES games, though I don't care for their music much)

"The Wynona Riders" (yes, the y's and i's are in the right places)

"Boris the Sprinkler"

"The Ducky Boys"

"The Chinese Millionnaires"

And when in doubt, look to Japan. They have some of the greatest English names, partly because they like to throw random English words together:

"Bump of Chicken"

"The Yellow Monkey"

"Hermann H. and the Pacemakers"

"Fantastic Factory"

"The Brilliant Green"

"Soulsberry"

"Luna Sea" (originally "Lunacy," but the pun is better.)

"SADS" (look up the definition somewhere on the web)

"hide with Spread Beaver" ("hide" is actually pronounced "hee-day," now defunct band because the front man, hide, killed himself)

"Guitar Wolf" (it's even better considering the guitarist/singer, bassist, and drummer are named "Guitar Wolf," "Bass Wolf," and "Drum Wolf.")

I once shared a bill in Charlotteville,Va with the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies at The Outback Lodge. They handed out really cool bumper stickers, one of which is proudly displayed on one of my old, semi-retired cases. A few other great band names I bore witness to in Charlottesville were:
Child Baring Hips and The Stoned Wheat Things.

I also once did sound for GWAR and their opening act was called Coat Hanger Delivery..... pretty sick.;)

Bands I was in

"The Mediocres"
"Match Box Metal Set"<-- the lead singer had a dream and a little girl walked up to him and said this. I never thought he was weird until he told me this.
"The Closing Band" We rocked, they asked us to close a show because everyone else sucked. They never asked us for our band name so they put closing band. We never even practiced we just jammed and we killed everyone else. Best colorado state jazz guitarist and jazz drummer. It was a damn rock show and the three of us tour up those rockers with some serious funk.

I almost joined "The Dirty Wet Sock Band".
