Best color ever?

15DC53EE-5679-42C8-956A-403CB1C4A4D3.jpeg The correct answer is of course faded fiesta red with a tort guard.

Natural Koa, like the Victor Bailey Signature Jazz.

Also love the green quilted maple on some of the Carvins. And the sapphire blue of some of the Ibanezes. Candy apple red is nice for a solid paint, but I prefer woodgrain to show

I'm kind of partial to this trans teal (MTD artist). Ironically, it was from a test batch sent from the factory, and didn't make the cut. It was supposed to be blue. So it was a very small batch of a non-cataloged color.

This is my 6 string, and the color it was supposed to be. The stain in the can was sapphire blue. It made my cousin's guitar sapphire blue. But the natural properties of my cherry wood body (and headstock overlay) turned it brownish green. It wasn't what I wanted but I learned to love it.

I used to be a strictly black-finish man. Today I prefer anything but. Except a solid black with rainbow flakes in the clear.

I'm a sucker for trans red, green, blue, teal, purple over beautifully figured wood. Sparkle finishes in just about any color. Metallics, especially copper, gold & silver. Solid sea-foam green, hot pink, neon green. Unique & artistic finishes.

Not a fan: Natural & natural bursts. But there are exceptions... Sometimes I rather like the idea of a burgundyglo or fireglo 4001. And I'm very much in-love with my Wal MkI fretless with a natural finish over a maple top.

Yeah, the neck felt good to me. I've always loved the feel of the old stripped-off-finish bodies, and this has that vibe too with the satin feel.
I really like the parchment pickguard, but the anodized seems to really work well on this bass.
I'm actually not a fan of the 3TSB/Anodized/Maple look - classic as it may be - but the Honeyburst really sets it off. The SPB-1 is the vintage sound, right?

I thought I was the only person alive who felt that way. Glad I'm not TOTALLY alone in that! Although it's usually the 2-tone Sunbursts that I see with the gold anodized (AV '57; Classic '50s). Don't like that look, but DO like it on the Honey Blonde; Black; Fiesta Red; and the White '57. And yes, SPB-1 was designed for that classic P-Bass tone.
