Designed by a guy named Saunders and produced (commission) at the newly formed Fender Custom Shop in the late 80's. He made basses but have never seen one. A great P-nut neck with crazy wood grain/character. I bought it years ago NOS for my Epi T-bird bodied, Kubicki 9v pre powered rock monster I call the Saunderbird.

My T-bird (in pic) is a '64 II - had it since '78.
The gen1 T-bird hs was the Achilles heal of that bass; huge, long neck, narrow nut. The new Epi VP looks to be the closest version of a legit RI.

I like the 5 in line look more than the 4+1 look on a fender 5 string. I think it would look even better if fender would use the mini tuners that hipshot makes for the esp bunny Brunel signature.

Guilds are pretty sweet. I got to play one locally before it sold at Guitar Center. What kind of strings are on that???
