I like that one, but wow, I'd be tempted to wind the A, D, and G strings the other way to try and straighten the string pull a bit more.

My T-bird (in pic) is a '64 II - had it since '78. The gen1 T-bird hs was the Achilles heal of that bass; huge, long neck, narrow nut. The new Epi VP looks to be the closest version of a legit RI.

Lots of great stuff, but the two D'Angelico's shown seem to raise it to a work of art. I believe they are same?
Those make my Epi JC AVRI look like a canoe paddle.

In terms of aesthetics, there is only ONE! The original Fender P Bass head stock via 1951 to early '57.

Then the iconic Fender P and J head stocks. With both the original decals and the big TV decals.

Then, for function, the Musicman Stingray 3 + 1 head stock is awesome and it looks really excellent too. Also, the 2 + 2 straight pull head stocks which mechanically are the best but not always the best looking.

My opinion, of course!

If I were in an 80's metal or glam rock cover band, this would be my go-to headstock. I've turned down several top-tier mint Kramer basses that probably played amazing, just because I couldn't see myself rocking an 80's style metal headstock with any other music.

Depending on POV, it would just be another thread with the same exact headstocks
