best pick to use on a bass

I used to be a fan of the 3mm delrin Dunlop picks. I think these only came in purple, and I don't recall if they're still made - didn't see any on the dunlop site.
I also like the 2mm Dunlop tri-stubby and big-stubby; they're the closest I've been able to find to the old 3mm picks.
These don't help my awful picking technique, although I do love the sound of them.

I like a large pick with a lot of give, so I usually grab these in a .63 guage:
Edit: Plus, they always come from the factory with a light convex bend to them, which is useful for an angled pick attack. And they're really easy to find on a dark stage floor after I toss them in god-knows-what direction.
+1. Although I like the .83s or 1.00s.
Tortex - they have a nice tone.

I use a 3mm big stubby pick. I guess thats a bit big?
That's still a lightweight compared to what I'm using.

And, I just placed an order yesterday for a bunch of new V-Picks including a Psycho Shredder, and some more freakishly large 3mm picks.
At some point, I'll pick up one of the 11.85 mm thick Insanity picks.
They may seem gimmicky, but they really do sound better, and they are easier to hold for long periods of time. And, yes, they are expensive, so don't throw them into the crowd at the end of a show.

2mm or 1.5mm works amazingly i find. Smooth attack, good tone.
I find stubby's slip from the fingers far too easily, don't know what anyone else thinks.

Funny I like the sounds I get on my Stingray from the Gator Grips but I find they slip out of my fingers pretty easily. On the other hand, find the indentation on the Dunlop Big Stubbies 2.0mm gives me a very sure grip on them and I love the sound and feel of them of them as well. That's all I've been using for a while now (the 2.0's).
I also like the Dunlop felt picks , but only when they're still new enough to give that gentle thumpy attack. Once I've been using them for a while and the felt begins to compact they start sounding less like a felt pick to me.

The .73mm Yellow Tortex is what I use.
Orange (.60mm) is too thin for bass IMO, but it can work in a pinch. It's my main choice for guitar. The .88mm Green is a bit heavy, but can work also.

i use yellow, orange and green Tortex pics. mostky the orange these days but ill use the others to get a different attack & tone sometimes.

Anyone know if there are any wooden picks out there? One's that aren't like 2mm thick and have no flex that is, out of the thousands of varieties of wood in the world, there must be one that flexes enough to make picks out of. Can imagine them sounding awesome if they were done well.
Really just try a bunch and see what you like. It's all personal preference.
I've tried lots of different kinds/sizes but I always end up going back to fender picks. I use their medium size pick if I am playing a song that has lots of fast strumming chords and I use their heavy or extra heavy for everything else.
