already in the club, but here's an old yamaha 6x10 guitar cab I forgot I had.

Why aren't the 15s aligned vertically? Is there a benefit in this case?

Basically they are angled because that's what it takes to get around the midrange chamber and still keep the preferred 48" x 23.75" face... Generally, the more degrees you get from vertical the more it skews horizontal dispersion. But since the woofers will be handling only 500 Hz and below - mainly frequencies where directionality is less controlled anyway, it's less of an issue. Since the midrange cones are vertical it's not such a bad deal at all : }

Nevertheless, I'm currently on a baffle version that cuts the angle to 11° off of vertical, by spec'ing a 45° angle cut piece on the closest corner of the midrange chamber.

Here's a preview of an enclosure design I'm going to be finished with soon.

And very quickly after that a guy who's already built several fEarfuls will be around with photos of the finished item, I'm sure. Should come in at 95 pounds or so. With a swept sine the woofers hit xmax at just under 1600 watts (so it's likely the power amp will have at least 2000 watts going to the woofers). And Vlad's going to be biamping so I think we have the smallest direct radiator "seismic event" package around ; }

Very nice!:cool:

Quote:Very nice! How does it sound to you compared with 410's?

These 12's have a much fatter sound, with the fast response of 10's, and the low end
of 15's without the flabbyness,12's are the happy medium.
Not to mention alot lighter than the 2/410 or 410-15 cabs i was running.

I'm so glad I saw this thread, I was starting to feel like a dinosaur on TB among people who only played 30lb rigs you could carry on a bicycle.

I like more air moving, even if it's not that loud, it's the difference of being bearhugged by the bass instead of one inch punched in the face by it.

nice 412, btw

Ha, took the big boys to the gig last night in my little Hyundai Sonata :eek:. Yeah, I know.... time to get a cover for my truckbed or a trailer right? Anyways, had my Breg NV215 in the backseat w/ my amps in my 6 space SKB, barely could get the door closed! Had a bass on top, barely fit, and the backup bass in front between the Berg and the seatbacks. Front passenger seat had my Dr Bass 2460D in it, pedal board was in the trunk. I couldn't see out the back or thru the passenger side mirror. Changing lanes was Scary, LOL.

Love having da boys wit me, sound SO GOOD! Go BIG or stay home!!

+1!!!
I know the feelin' & this IS the reason why I bought myself a 'HIACE ' Van. Oh actually it's a Mitsubishi van- whatever- it hold the gear WELL & make it easy to have a trolley(handtruck) for those 'LONG load ins' ;)
I, too, LOVE my Berg NV215 & altho I COULD take a 1x15 & a 1x12 to some gigs, there's just a certain "THICKNESS" to having a decent amount of air moving outta these type of cabs! Playing in our 4 piece(3piece & lead vocalsist) w/ just guitar, bass, drums as instruments, our drummer commented- saying that when I bring the Berg. NV cab- the whole band just seems BIGGER sounding! Bigger & Better!! -His words! :smug: Dunno If I could'a said it better!:D
