Cool!

Is that a double TL606 in the "step down" mode?

Yep. Only modifications to the TL606 design is increasing the port height to 3" from 2" due to suggestions on the forums when using the Kappalite 3015 instead of the EV drivers.

As for the step-down mode, I only made the covers so I could put my little logo on them. I haven't played the cab enough to know if I prefer the step-down. I'll have to give it a go without the covers and A/B the two configurations to know which I prefer in a band setting.

My '71 Ampeg 8x10 flatback.

which 412 do you like better?

The ampeg has a super nice biting tone to it but I think my bass playing at loud volumes through it was the death of it. I blew the voice coil in the bottom right speaker so its more for show right now. :rolleyes: I'm planning to get a new speaker someday and run a much lower watt amp through it. Only problem is the speakers are discontinued and the lowest I've seen them go for was like $150.

The verellen is loud, crisp, clear, and projects awesomely. It's quickly become my go to cab. Not to mention Ben and Desmond are great guys to work with.

Check this thread out, from what I've read there, and the questions I've asked, those neo's in the one are an improvement over the orginals for bass.

That cab looks way rad!

I can't wait to give it a go.

I had that PeaVey 1820 cab once. Nice punchy little stage amp if you are in a PA. Mid size at best. Anything you can pick up with one hand and sling onto a truck ain't big.

Some 2x15s are small - some big. Maybe we need a size and weight cut-off?

Ampeg had once done a study on 4x12s and came up with the thought they were better than 4x10s for tone. But the market was 4x10 sold and they could not push it. That was almost 10 years ago. I guess things are starting to come around.....

Here's a preview of an enclosure design I'm going to be finished with soon.

And very quickly after that a guy who's already built several fEarfuls will be around with photos of the finished item, I'm sure. Should come in at 95 pounds or so. With a swept sine the woofers hit xmax at just under 1600 watts (so it's likely the power amp will have at least 2000 watts going to the woofers). And Vlad's going to be biamping so I think we have the smallest direct radiator "seismic event" package around ; }

Ha, took the big boys to the gig last night in my little Hyundai Sonata :eek:. Yeah, I know.... time to get a cover for my truckbed or a trailer right? Anyways, had my Breg NV215 in the backseat w/ my amps in my 6 space SKB, barely could get the door closed! Had a bass on top, barely fit, and the backup bass in front between the Berg and the seatbacks. Front passenger seat had my Dr Bass 2460D in it, pedal board was in the trunk. I couldn't see out the back or thru the passenger side mirror. Changing lanes was Scary, LOL.

Love having da boys wit me, sound SO GOOD! Go BIG or stay home!!

Why aren't the 15s aligned vertically? Is there a benefit in this case?
