How would you compare the Mesa PH412 to the GK 412?

How would you compare the Mesa PH412 to the GK 412?

I would say the Mesa is a brighter sounding cabinet. So much so that I actually do not like playing the 400+ through it. The GK on the other hand has more of a snarly rock sound, I can get a much better tone (IMO) using the 400+ through the GK. The Titan sounds equally awesome, though slightly different , through either of the two cabs.
Now having said all this, I am playing solo in my garage, so I am not sure how they would sound at volume with a band. The goal is to get the chops up to snuff and start looking for a band in the next 6 months or so.

Is that what this is?

Regards,
Wayne A. Pflughaupt

Yep that is one right there! Looks like a good chance to get it for a great price, since they didn't list it as a PB-1, and searches for a Yamaha PB-1 come up empty. I got mine on ebay awhile back for $125 or so... Mine looks sort of like it went through a war but just adds character, it still kills!

can i get a number? running a markbass littlemark tube 800 through this thing

Man I bet that sounds good, I haven't had a chance to hear the markbass tube stuff yet though...

Your number sir: #173 - dirtymungoo

I used to have a 2x15 Kustom and 18 folded horn Acoustic. ... Does that cound?

Refer, please, to section 173, paragraph c, article iii "prospective BCC members must be possession of said cabinetry concurrently with the submission of their CV for consideration of full membership..." :eyebrow:

However, those are some awesome cabs you had and you are hereby granted 'honorary membership' until such time that you become once again in possession of such equipment as that which qualifies for full membership status in BCC... :D

Man that is nice! What is the crimson stuff I see on the front of your cabs? Is that some fabric?
Yeah, it's a Brocade skull fabric in red & black I got off ebay. Seller told me he originally had it spec'd out for a custom hearse re-upholstery (sp?) job... but it was so popular he orders up bolts of it periodically for clothing makers and the like. I bought a few yards of it for a dining room tablecloth and to face my cabs baffles w/after seeing another thread on here about doing that. I've also got it in black on black too.

Here's a closer shot w/o the grills:

The 215 is still loaded w/the stock 400W EVM-15L's. The Diesel 1516 has a different 400W EV 15 and a GK 200W Paragon 10, so it's more like a 1516be... but a tad more smooth & deep.

My current Cabs:

Ampeg 810E (1)
(2)hlf410 and (2)410E
also (2) Ampeg 15" seperate cabs, and (1) 610 cab.
OK: Fender the 810Pro and the 215pro...killer price but worth it.
Currently I'm wish listing another 810E. I truly think that the this cab wins out over the Fender even though it costs less. I have been playing both of them back to back and the Ampeg seems to have more bottom. If I'm in your club then I'm also almost in the poor house....My rigs won't photo that great you all have seen this stuff many times before...But a real shout out to the Mesa Boogie rig.........It winns the prize...

HOOOLLLYYYYY SMMMOOOOOKKEEESSSSS That is SICKKKKKK!! I never imagined it would be that awesome! A good lining for a black leather, or a hearse, of course! The last funeral I was at the hearse was all decked out with that iinside. ;) However, a hearse like that would do a good job of hauling bass cabs like yours (or mine!)

TYVM!

Was pretty easy to install too. Just a can of headliner glue from the auto parts store, the fabric, a soldering iron, and a razor knife needed. Funny thing is: This rig would be AWESOME for country or blues too... but I tend to gravitate toward "The Dark Side" :bassist:
