You talking about cabs like these.....

Holy crap! I mean WOW... Actually I don't know what to say

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask about this, but I know there are some Peavey gearheads around here. I'm thinking about selling my twin 1810s, but I don't know what I can get for them. I got them for $150 apiece and I'm hoping I can make at least $50 off of 'em. Let me know what you think.

And I'm not getting rid of my big cabs because they're big--far from it! The money's probably going to go (at least) in part towards getting a 2x15 or 4x12 custom made.

I'd think you'd be able to at least get what you payed for them.

Ampeg 8x8 and a Sunn 2x15..The Sunn is almost TOOO big.

Man I have never seen an Ampeg 8x8! How does that one sound? Looks very impressive. And remember, there is no such thing as a bass cab that is too big, only a bassist with tone that is too small...:bassist:

As promised, here are some pictures. Unfortunately I could not get everyone in the same place....

What is that dark head in the first pic, is that the Bassman 300 Pro? Looks mean. Thanks for the pics.

I am stunned... Actually I'm not, it depends on the condition and your timing I guess. Maybe if you can sell them as a matched pair you can make a little more, I have definitely seen them sell for over $200 though. Spend a little time cleaning them up before you photograph them (and clear away any junk, etc from your camera's field of view), makes a big difference on a potential buyer's impression.

"a pair over my shoulders"

I don't think so!
The 1820's I had were good for what/when they were, but I'm very thankful that there are boxes now that sound as good and weigh 1/3 as much.

Very thankful.

Hey Chef, I owe you an apology!! I was at a M-G-R that I frequent the other daying seeing what good buys and what they had gotten in, and they had an 1820 and to my suprise that thing was HUGE! I always pictured them being just a bit bigger than a 115. I did not realize they were so deep! I measured it and it was 20" deep whereas my 3620 is 17" deep. Those 3 inches make it seem very big, almost as tall as a 215D and really deep, not unlike a washer or dryer as some have said. Very cool but I can see how moving them would be a job...

Mhmm they aren't very small at all! Fun cabs. I will miss the 18" BWs--they were sweet. The 10s...not so much. :D

here is my contribution to the Big Cabs Club. This is probably the single best sounding speaker cabinet I have ever heard. Its so well balanced and deep but very tight. Cant praise it enough!

Yeah, those Mesa 412s are slammin' - probably one of the best cabs they've ever made... If I didn't already have a PH 610 that I really like, I'd be eyeing one of those 412s...

This TL606D is my main outdoor and/or large indoor cab:

even though i'm a vintage amp kinda guy, i really LIKE that cab! i guess, even that look is starting to look 'vintage', but IMO is timeless, since its design is based on uility. (i.e. form based on function).
