I'm sorry if I should know this as an 1810 owner, but what's the difference between the 1820 and the 1810?

Well, here The Mentors have 2 - 1810 cabs, where you can just make out that the edge of the BW is right up against the 2 scorpions.

Now in these pictures, Faith No More has 6 - 1820 cabs, and you can see that the edge of the BW is a few inches from the scorpions, which is attributed to the 18 having a larger compartment in the 1820.

Yes here is Faith No More touring and playing their top 10 hit "Epic" through Peavey 1820 cabs!

they weigh more than your motorcycle, and are about the size of a big deep freeze.
i carted two of them for years, and i'll not go back;)

C'mon those things are tiny, surely you could just toss one on each shoulder and go!

Mhmm. I've got a pair of 1810s. They look neat and sound okay, but they're so heavy.

I'm assuming that the 1820s are wider than the 1810s, then?

Yes it does look like it.

"a pair over my shoulders"

I don't think so!
The 1820's I had were good for what/when they were, but I'm very thankful that there are boxes now that sound as good and weigh 1/3 as much.

Very thankful.

Speaking of which, here's a fine 1820 on ebay - look at the condition and look at the price! Ouch!

Though somehow they got one of the rare 'left-handed' versions...

judging by how close the speakers are, that appears to be an 1810

I had some trouble getting a truck to haul my 1820 from the old house to the new. People kept asking "it won't fit in my car?"

"no.. really.. it's about the size of a washer or dryer.."

I love it though. And I do like the 2x15 I recently picked up, though it must be the shallow cab cause it's nowhere near as deep as my 1820

Whoops! I meant 1810!

Also and I'm not sure if this is true, but around that time they started manufacturing the BW speakers differently without the aluminum dust cap everyone was used to (which isn't really a normal dust cap but a "a one-piece aluminum dust cap and voice coil former") and changed to a normal paper dust cap. From what I've seen of the 1810s they have the aluminum, where as the 1820s appear to have the paper.

3620s seem to have come early with the aluminum and later with the paper.
