How do you like that Wayne Jones preamp?

My thoughts on all three:

Felix - cleanest, and most accurate of the bunch. The parametric mid eq and high pass filter are really helpful. Also really like the selectable input impedence.

Wayne Jones - very clean, very accurate with a bit of sparkle on the top end and a little more bloom on the low end. Wayne's target was the Avalon 737 studio preamp. I've owned the Avalon and he pretty much nailed is sonic character. Lots of EQ flexibility.

Monique - thickest sounding of the three. more bloom in the low end. Great, warm mids. a little less high end extension. No "bad" eq settings and the Sensitivity knob is perfect for adding harmonic complexity and grit to your tone.

You’re about to be VERY happy. The immediacy and high fidelity articulation yet tubey warmth are very well matched to the MAS tone profile. I can’t wait to fire up this rig again.

We had my 2di4/RAD setup at the GTG, along with Wayne's Monique and Felix (the Wayne Jones was on the other side of the room and only set up through the WJ system, at least while I was there). Plus a Tantra. And I walked away feeling very, very happy about my rig for my sound
Nothing wrong with the others at all - all different flavors of great.

What Kesslari said. His 2di4/RAD setup running through the B28 sounded great at the GTG. We didn't get a chance to try the Wayne Jones pre with the B28. I'm trying that combo at home now and the sound I'm getting with my AJ is pushing all the right buttons!

I have a Puma 1000 or an RMX 1450a to run it with at the moment, but I am liking the thought of an integrated amp in the Bodai.

Are any of you running extra eq with the Sonic Farm, or do you find the switches enough to get you where you need to be?

I know Jake was a fan of using the Empress Para EQ with the 2di4. I haven't had the need yet. I mostly use the EQ on my bass. But then, I haven't played any really weird rooms with it, either.

the 2di4 with the Para EQ is easily plenty of EQ control for my rig. I find that combo to be very simple, and very effective.

I do wish the sonic farm DI had an fx loop (although I understand why it wouldn’t). Simply because, plugging straight into the front end of the 2di4 directly from the Bass yields a particularly satisfying tone, which Is slightly diminished by going through pedals in between. But that’s really splitting hairs.

the description on the mas site says back firing inside the mids chamber.
Maybe he is no longer doing that.
Also noticed you have a mas 109,
Wonder what they sound like in an A/B test?
The bodai should be louder, i would think, for one.
