Had some fun in my living room last night. Since acquiring my Bodai pair and 1,8, I hadn't fired up my remaining 110 Flex. Mike acted surprised when I told him how often I ran it with the tweeter off. I hooked the Flex to my 800+ and played with the tweeter on, playing with the different mid-level settings. Nice. Then I turned off the tweeter and set the mids for no attenuation. It's magical. Those two 5.5" mid/high drivers are good at sounding nice or nasty. I was soloing the neck pickup on my Dingwall NG-2 and tweaking the high-mid (2.5k) control up a bit. Nitty, gritty goodness. The 110 Flex is just a killer cab.

I remember liking that setting on my 210 Flex. Tweets off, mids hot. Can get agressive and Grindy in the mids, good stuff.

Anyone have any experience with a MAS112 Essential (LPT version)? I'm having a conversation with Mike later this morning around building one that has a footprint of ~24" wide for use with a low powered tube amp.

This'll be primarily be for practice and recording - I'm channelling my inner B-15, MAS style. Oh, and I still have my 18Sound/Caire MAS112 and my 4/16 ohm MAS26.

Had a Flex 110/Sub package, like the 112 or 26 more, for what I do. I've thought quite a bit about adding a 110 Sub to the 26 though - nice modular package that way.

I'm looking forward to chatting with Mike in an hour or so...

I’ve had an MAS 112 with the 18sound and one with the custom speaker in the LPF. The 18sound was really impressive, but after comparing the two, I went with the LPF. The LPF had a much more traditional sound, kind of like a giant B-15. Really nice mids and still the crazy lows.

radbass,

Great to know. It's sort of what I expected but your info was confirmed with the man himself.

FWIW, just finished the call with Mike. An order for a 24" wide x ~28" tall MAS112 LPT with the custom Eminence driver and 4x3" mids with a ~5-6 week delivery will be placed momentarily.

The delivery timeframe will likely give me time to either build a Trinity Amplification TripTop amp, or if I get time compressed, go out and buy a different low powered tube amp to pair with the new cab.

Ahhh the choices - oh my!
