My turn! I get the crazy new ideas for a while. I do admit though that what has been learned from the intense development work on the bass cabs has translated to mine.

I'm all for crazy new ideas. As I told Mike when I ordered - "having evil geniuses creating speaker cabinets for me - that rocks".
And another week has ticked off of my wait for my Flex 210 Modular.

So I am eagerly awaiting news that I have been chosen for a position at another company with an increase in pay. While there are priorities that will come first, this puts a Flex within reach in a year or possibly less - I hope. If I'm successful at re-selling some gear that might be sooner. I'm not so sure I'll want to let my Aria in the classifieds go, but we'll see. There's a Mesa 400 local to me that I plan on picking up first and some other basses that are inexpensive - low hanging fruit as it were. However, a cabinet I keep at my practice area would be "out of her way" rather than more basses.

I hope you get confirmation of your new job soon.
I don't know how well you and your new position will get along, but I do know that you'll love a Flex cab! If I were you, I wouldn't be distracted by low-hanging fruit. I'd be focusing on saving all the funds I could for a Flex. I'm (obviously) NOT you!
Ok, so, I was just musing at work...
If the new six inch based cabs are demonstrating an extremely usable low frequency down to almost 40 hertz, and one of the big advantages of the flex, beyond the flexibility of the switching, is the fact that the bass is in its own vortex load and the mids are in their own vortex load,
What about a one cab solution for those using a 45 and a 110, but not the two of them in a single box, but something smaller than that that is more of a Mas-85 with a more extended low end in an even smaller box...
A mas45 and mas26 all in one cab.
Maybe keep the 45s footprint, but approximately a 21.5 x 25ish x 11 cab that falls in the 45 pound range, that has a vortex for a 2 x 6 bass region and a separate for the 4x5 mids.
Downsides, a new vortex for 6s in a 21.5" wide box would have to be designed which I'm sure is a ton of work, and the 4x5 mids would be limited a bit by the 2x6 lows, but
A wide range cab that's clear and accurate that is the size of most 210s and can approach closer to a six ten, a little bit of a stretch but, seems interesting.

The final word came today - yay! So I then took a look on Mike's site for pricing - ouch! So, while I'm saving my pennies, flipping gear, getting things in order, etc. I need sumthin' to play through - I think I can cover that cheaply for the short term and be able to make a little off what I get when the time comes.
However, if it would help - when that time does come I'll help a Flex owner out buy enabling them to sell theirs and get the modular one.
PS, I'm glad 3rdcurve got to keep his. Lord knows I've gone through a lot of gear because needs change & things happen, I know what that's like. Hope I can start collecting now instead of flipping all the cool stuff I find!

As an early adopter, I will just say, it ain't the bass it's the cab, in this instance. You don't necessarily need more basses. My early MAS48 sounds incredible regardless if it is the SVT7pro/w/ one preamp tube or the Fender Super Bassman 300 all tube or the Peavey VB-2. My five strings and 4 strings all have oomph. It is the best sound you will hear through whatever you load in front of "IT". Modular 2x10 flex or a MAS 4x6 or whatever you choose. I play a 4 string with well worn flats as a rule, but might play a 5 string for grins if the mood grabs me.
The BigE can translate it all. I ordered a 4x6 and might plunk it down in my livingroom for dvds when not using it for small gigs, or use one or the other cabs as PA front. They are that good. No need to worry. Mike is shipping many flavors of delicious. No bad ones. And if they were regretting one iteration, I am betting they would cop to it, and offer a deal! Not likely though. Speaking for myself, my early design MAS 48 is a monster in a compact package and can actually kill an outdoor gig beyond ones expectations. Here's a meaningless statement for the "where are the measurements" dudes.
My 4x8 can fill an outdoor neighborhood (nearly)? as well as my fEARful 1515/66, though neither have been stressed to fart out extreme. I have used them both at an annual block party that becomes a 2 block party and the concept of a 4x8 w/o PA support rockin a neighborhood is one for the skeptics. But it did. In spades. No measurements. Just player in the reality. This is a serious no flim flam product as others w/o engineering degrees have attested to. It's kinda like asking SRV why he likes the Strat. Well wait a minute, let me load some measurements and I will send you some graphs and we will determine if the Stratocaster is really worthy of Jimi's and my time. This Product line is real and pretty soon,(or is it now) Mike will need assist builders to keep up with the orders. My 2 cents

Congratulations on your new job, Razman! With good measures of patience and persistence you'll be manipulating ye olde vortex in the no-too-distant future.

Sorry I haven't been posting as much lately. Getting caught up on orders. I am looking at someone to actually handle some of the production. That was my goal from the beginning. Just had to get it to the level to make that worthwhile.

That is a great basic cab that I think you will enjoy it very much. It is our most affordable solution to get your feet wet or even just as a practice cab.
