I have found that I get slightly enhanced bass response in the phase-shifted setting. But, it is nice to have the option, as one setting always works better than the other in a given room. But, all things being equal, I like the phase shift.

The rig performed very well. When I use an amp with a graphic EQ - especially as a separate, switchable tone section - I normally keep it bypassed, and shape my tone with the other controls available. The idea here is that I reserve the graphic's use for "room control," which is exactly what I needed it for last night. The room we played is by far the worst venue I play in from an acoustics perspective. They set up the band in an addition which has a low, flat ceiling, and then this opens up in the main room, which is basically a quonset hut (high, arched ceiling). The addition gets super boomy, and then things thin out like crazy in the main room.

Fortunately, I was able to mitigate this a good bit by cutting 80Hz on the Strategy's graphic. This did make some notes around low G pretty week, but the end result was better than what I usually get in that room. Both the Strategy and the MAS-Flex210 would have liked to have been pushed harder, but since I was getting better results by placing the main PA closer to the main part of the room, I did have bass in the PA.

Both the Strategy and the MAS-210Flex are very revealing of the characteristics of the bass you are playing. This made it a little difficult to switch between very different sounding basses, but I was able to use the Mesa's other tone stack to adjust. The best sounding bass of the night was my Sadowsky Will Lee 4.

I was intrigued by Tom (and Mike!) liking the out-of-phase setting, so I tried it this morning with my SJ/P5. It is another wonderful flavor of good and absolutely not lacking in low end. I never get tired of being amazed and pleased every time I plug into my rig... :cool:

Kirk - According to Mike's (much earlier) post, the 210 Flex weighs about 72 pounds.

The default setting is in phase which results in the upper bass and mid bass region being fuller. The non-default setting will thin this bass/mid-bass region some to help mitigate room boom or just flavor this region for you without sacrificing the low end reproduction of the Bass Loudspeaker.

If anyone here has a Thunderfunk, it would be great to hear your take on how it pairs with the MAS cabinets. I seem to remember a couple brief mentions of it in the past, but most energy is being spent on the Puma, Jule, etc. I still love mine, and I'm about to drop coin on either a Flex110 or a 46.

Well, what would you want to know? I have the 750, and the cabs Mike mentioned. It sounds absolutely fabulous. Similar sound quality to my studio setup (which is rather high end), in a relatively compact package. I set the EQ fairly flat, just a taste of enhance and the Timbre one click to the left. I can't drive the Flex to fartout BTW. The early 46 seems a touch more sensitive. Both cabs are at least loud as an Epifani 310. Great stuff.

Anyone compared or have info on how a MA109 would compare to a Bassic 15 for a single cab solution? Walkabout, blues and R&B type stuff. Basement band stuff, 2 guitars and a drummer. Possible small gig stuff. Any info appreciated.

I have a lowend Ashdown 1x15 cab with an Eminence 3015 neo that fills medium size rooms great on blues gigs. No tweeter and it sounds great to me. Once 109 gets here, it will be interesting to see how it compares. Should be another four weeks or so... :D
