Like someone said earlier, I also think it's a big mistake when bands trash their ex-bandmates in the press. Cheapens everyone's image, really.

Another one I would say is, Metallica being kinda crappy to Jason Newsted.
Children of Bodom debuted in 1993.
David Lee Roth debuted in the '70s.
Actually I made a mistake. Someone posted about Nickelback, who are from this century. The fact that NICKELBACK is the only modern act mentioned in the first 12 pages (at least) is more disturbing than anything.
I agree on Master of Reality. Volume 4 I think is my second favorite.
I had stopped listening to the entire genre by 1990 so I can't really comment on some of Ozzy's later stuff. He always had the guitar hero sideman, like most bands of that era, and I was pretty tired of that formula. I really did like the first three he did. Shot in the Dark was ok.
I will say the Ultimate Sin was an Ultimate Turd. IMO of course.
Couldn't stand either of those. Most of Ozzy's solo output after Diary of a Madman is pretty blah to me. But tastes vary.
Always preferred Sabbath to either Dio's or Ozzy's solo careers, though.
Nah. They're both pretty lame in comparison to Sabbath's other work.
And no, gotta disagree on any of Ozzy's solo albums being better than Sabbath with Dio. The first two Ozzy albums are pretty good, but nowhere near as good as Heaven and Hell, and Mob Rules. And none of the stuff he did after Randy died even compares at all. In fact I don't think he had any great albums after the first two.
I also don't care about soloists. I care about riffs. And Sabbath's were just plain better.

I don't see it as an either-or; I like Dio and Sabbath and there is no conflict of interests for me.
(I like Sabbath's first album and Dio's Last In Line best.)

I saw Journey, with Whitesnake & Thunder, a couple of years ago; I thought Journey were pretty awful.
It was quite funny that some people were there with their kids, maybe because of the Glee connection, and Thunder came on and introduced I cant remember which song with "This is a song about wanking", and then Coverdale was using swear words like punctuation and teased his bass player about shagging a movie star; some left before they got to see Journey!
For me, that "honor" goes to "Boogie with Stu". No slag on Ian Stewart, but it's the only song of theirs I will reach for the skip button immediately.
JimmmyM - I was down on Beale Street two weeks ago. One of the trinket shops had your Godfather of Soul giant bobble-head. I was SO tempted. I felt like I happened upon a pre-CBS P-Bass..........ha ha ha ha
I don't think Gene Simmons had his tongue surgically altered. He's just a guy with a long tongue, as far as I know.
Of course he didn't. It's just something that KISS haters like to say to piss off KISS lovers.
What about those of us who are neither KISS haters nor KISS lovers? I was a KISS lover when I was 13 years old, because I was their target audience, but now I could mostly live without them, however I do note that they have some great rock songs, and deserve neither my hatred nor my love. I think Alive is one of the classic rock albums, and the songs Black Diamond and She are two examples of truly inspired rock performances. I think Gene is an ass, but that is his right, and he definitely can play bass.
Then you all don't care so much whether he got his tongue lengthened or not, and you tend to be more rational about dopey stuff like that surrounding the KISS legend. How do you lengthen your tongue surgically, anyway?
