Well I decided not to get a fretless neck replacement on my corto and instead just getting a new fretless bass. Should be fun. Love the drop D on the corto 2 I recently got. Tuning is different than I thought. There is an excellent YouTube video by the owner of hips hot showing how to install and how to tune it properly.

Thanks, I did not know about the graphite on the nut. You said tuning was different on the Cortobass. Tell me about it.

It's not actually made by Birdsong, but it came from Scott, today. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rotated image- my photo software wouldn't rotate it. It's the one at the top.

Tuning the E string with the drop D tuner is different than I thought. The hip shot video shows ow auto do it. You tune the e string a bit flat then flip the tuner to d and back to e and it is in tune and if not just re do it in til it is. You check pitch in the d position and if flat or sharp you flick it to the e position and adjust accordingly and go bac to d position and check it. Kind of weird. I would never have figured it out but it stays rock solid once done. I had been retuning every time a switched to it and retuning when I went back to e until I saw this video.

Scott has started a file and we are discussing details.
Working on a Fretless Cortobass plain ebony fret board, black hardware, D-Tuner and a 5 piece body. Sold 5 of my 12 basses for this baby.

I believe that the next number is 79, so

79 - Ken J

Can some recommend a gig bag to use with Birdsong's ? I had a Protec guitar bag that I used to own with a Mouse (sold the Mouse w/ the bag) that fit perfectly so I just bought a new Protec guitar bag but the new ones don't fit. I'm thinking a regular bass gig bag will be too big.
I'm looking for a quality gig bag that is not crazy expensive but not cheap either.
