Hurray! next batch for routing! Done by this year!

Sweeeeet - you're in the home-stretch. Awesome. What *was* the old plan for the control plate?

It was going to be walnut with a graining pattern similar to the rosewood fretboard. He found a piece of bloodwood wide enough to make a control plate, so he recommended using the bloodwood instead. In his words, it will look "stunning" with the cherry body. :)

Adam H: that's looking great! :bassist:

Scott finally sent me a picture, it is the same one that is currently on the Clients page. He said that there are some red overtones as well that the camera could not pick up. I can't wait until I have possession of this beauty! I will wait and post pics after I receive it, I do not have any pics that have not already been on their site.

I love how the blackwash really brings out the grain on yours!

AC!

Are those your friends birdsong guitars that got stolen?!

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Yes! His house was broken into yesterday while he was at work. Someone came in and took the flatscreen TV, laptop, Takamine 12-string acoustic, two Birdsongs, our pianist's keyboard, and my friend's wife's jewelry. We're working under the assumption that the theft was either done by someone who had come through the house during one of our weekly jams or someone who got the information about someone who had been in the house. (it isn't exactly an easy place to stumble into).

This guy is one of the most generous-spirited, giving, loving people I've had the pleasure of calling a friend. The fact that this may sour him on opening his house to people and to sharing his/our music...the fact that someone may have betrayed his generosity...words don't even begin to cover how angry this makes me.

Appropriate steps are being taken to cover locations where stuff may be sold. I ask that regardless of where y'all are, keep an eye out - these guitars are unique, to say the least.

Thanks.

Terrible news. This is exactly what happened to me after I had a couple of jams at my house...A couple of weeks later I was robbed blind. The anger and feeling of violation stays around quite awhile.

That's what I had been lead to believe - that the emotional damage could be a greater problem than the property loss.

Thanks for the supportive words, y'all. I know it'll mean a lot to my friend.
