Double Bass Blast cult

So...he went on tour to Europe, as an employee, with some band or other, with unfilled years-old orders still outstanding, and didn’t tell his customers anything other than “Any day now!”

While he was half a world away from his workshop.

Earning money and partying.

This doesn’t make everybody’s BS detectors start shrieking EEIGGGH! EEIGGGH! EEIGGGH!

My thoughts exactly. Dude needs to decide what business he actually wants to work for...his own or someone else's. Just wow. Hope he has seen this thread to realize the immense damage he is doing to his own business.

I think Jason just needs focus on producing those pickups and integrated pre-amp tailpieces and other “hot rod” parts that people can slap on their painted Kays and Shens. He has some good ideas. If he chooses to continue taking DB orders, he should honestly charge like 10k+ for his custom basses, like most small luithers. He’d probably have a smaller more reasonable amount of orders he could actually stay on top of and people would 110% still buy from him. A lot of slap guys here and on FB will accept no substitute and nothing will deter them, clearly. Hasn’t someone on here been waiting for years bass-less because they only want a Blast Cult or nothing? Wouldn’t you long wait guys have preferred to just pay double and get the bass within six months?

Jason doesn’t seem like he wants to or is able to churn out basses to order all day every day though, so maybe less is more and he’ll probably make the same, and have more time to hang out with the other rockabilly cool kids and screenprint merch.

Someone has been waiting a long time because "Jason" took his money and has not delivered what he promised, not because he would not settle for anything else. What Jason needs to do is act responsibly and with integrity, not focus on some other business. I can't believe someone hasn't exhausted every resource, legal or otherwise, to make this guy's life as difficult as possible.

Should have said: "Jason 'allegedly' took his money..." Sorry.

I mean, I totally agree but the general rule of business does not apply to this guy. He has a literal web army of sycophants (read the first like 8 pages of this thread or try to say something negative about him on the Facebook group) and he bullies and manipulates his clients after taking their money. This isn’t some closely guarded secret. There are still people who literally will accept nothing but one of his basses and will not play double bass if they cannot have one. They will wait years to play if Jason says it is coming next week. I wish I had customers like that.
