Bleeding ears. I could not watch the whole thing...

Russian Kids-Great use of eclectic scales and varying tempo to create a rich and original texture. Obviously beyond some comprehensions. It's called jazz. A P-Bass would have sat squarely in the mix and quieted the nay-sayers.

Worst band EVAR- Skill, practice, meth and a P-bass would place these guys at the top of the worst band charts.

Europe-Needs more P-bass in the mix. If that was a P-Bass.

John Candy, Rick Moranis(?) and Who? Plop a PB in there and they could have gone places.

Baby Metal Chicks-Can't say who was the most impressive. That Drummer has better meter than half the guys I've played with. When the bassist is big enough to hold a P-Bass watch out.

Black Out-P-Bass dudes. Copyright before the Russians get a hold of your stuff.

Metal Kids-Awesome! Needed P-Bass in mix.

Metal Kids 2-Only held back by P-Bassless mix. Otherwise awesome.

Mr.Octave-No amount of P-Bass will fix that.

Russian guys-What is it with Final Countdown? Does that have deeper meaning in Russia? Have a P-Bass play the vocal lines. Sit the singer. All is well.

Is there a moral to all of this?

If you think thats funny check this out... I still think I win for worst *anything* music related with this YouTube gem;)

Edit: Sorry, I have a terrible sense of humor!! Not with kids trying to play music BTW, but with adults failing horribly that is....

OP again here. Of course they are kids, but that is not the point. At their age, many kids have proper bands, playing recognizable songs and in the same key, for dogs sake...
I'm gonna go ahead and suggest that although there are many, many kids bands and some of them are great, most of them are horrible. That's normal. I should know, I've been in a few.

Yeah it's pretty funny to laugh at, but I suppose it's easy to forget where we started. I'm sure if I heard some of my earliest playing I would certainly cringe, hell I cringe when I hear my playing in real time. The important thing is at least they are trying the real thing, not rock band, etc. Many people can't even play/speak in front of people so that says something. I agree, though that the pink floyd cover band is worse. They are adults and therefore don't get any grace.

I think the OP video is hilarious, endearing, pathetic, and even touching.

I think it's perfectly fine to laugh at the performance. Just so long as when you do laugh at those kids, the last thing one should tell them is they don't have a future playing music. Puuuuhleeeze -- who the hell are you again? Only the wunderkinders can play instruments? Sheesh, man y of us folks didn't pick up an instrument (let along a stringed instrument) until we were full-grown adults. I wouldn't even ridicule that adult band. They're probably weekend warriors who never get enough time to practice together, or they're drunk or stoned... so what? The performance is painfully inept... I say that alone is what makes those videos charming. Keep plugging away dudes!
You had me until "I wouldn't even." C'mon. A bunch of drunk douche bags. It seemed like the drummer could play alright sorta-maybe. The rest? Sheesh. Doing that in public, which they did makes us all look a little bad, believe it or not. A bit like bikers all 'hell-bent-for-leather' doing burnouts on their 25K drag-piped Fat Boys before stuffing it into a ditch. Please.

How did it take 4 pages for that to get posted? I thought that's what this entire thread was going to be about. The best part is when the dude in the electric pink shorts comes out to check the guitar amp.

But people, c'mon, let's be real. There is only ONE worst band. And that band...is...COMPLETE.

TAKE US TO HOOGIE-BOOGIE LAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little post-production and it'll be fine.

Hey, its kids. The only bad thing is, someone thought it was youtube worthy.

And that kinda reminds me of this clip - with a big shout out to the soundpeeps in the world! ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah they're just starting out, and props given for hurdling the Amerikan, language. Better than some that were born & raised here.
But even I still get a good laugh at my own early years. When we can no longer take a chance and laugh at ourselves and invite others to join in, well life becomes more Dante' and less Divine Comedy.
Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends....

And BTW, those "Kids" have almost Two Million Views!!!!

In Soviet Russia, the youtube video laughs at you! :D

Seems to me that this thread is full of overenthusiastic moralists.
Let's be honest, how much damage is poking a little fun going to make? The chances of the people in these videos seeing this thread is practically non-existent. No threats are being made, and no careers are being threatened.

And to be fair, i'm pretty sure everyone here has at some point been on the level that the "kids" in those videos are. By laughing at them, we're basically retroactively laughing at ourselves, which i think is a good thing.

Over enthusiastic moralist because I think laughing at little kids is pathetic? Whatever you need to do to feel good about yourself...

Lighten up, man. Go watch one episode of america's funniest home videos and you'll see an entire tv-studio full of people doing just that.
The only difference between this thread and that, is what we're laughing at them for. :ninja:

Sure, I agree but I think you missed the intent of the original post: "OK, they are kids, but still - I see now [a] future in music for anyone of these." A bit of a thick accent, but I get it. Love the OP's enthusiasm and support. : D

Yeah, i definitely agree that there's a future in music for anyone of those kids. That's exactly what i'm saying too.
Everyone here has probably been on the same level as them at some point, not necessarily playing in public. But people evolve and learn. Give them time and chances are most of those kids will be more than adequate on their instruments.
