No membership requirements really I wouldn't think - Just Bassists who are playing the blues (or heavily inspired and love the blues). I don't really want the Blues Bass Club to turn into a "Classic Rock" club; and to be honest I don't know exactly where the difference is but let's get chatting about the Blues :cool:

Concur- Classic Rock =\= the Blues though they are related.

And there is nothing quite like locking with a drummer on a slow blues, or on a stanky blues funk jam. It just feels like home...

Count me in!

15 years ago, I would be all over this club. These days. Not so much. I've touch all of the fun, the blues has to offer. Last Winter was my 14th and last visit to IBC. Yes, it was. But, I did not play one single note at the. Beale st. I've recorded in Ardent studio, if that counts.
15 + years, I was involved in 2 bands, Last band cracked apart just week before Georgia's pre-competition for IBC. After that, I spent my time traveling in the South, learning about history of the modern music, meeting the people, even being Corporate sponsor to IBC nd Blues Foundation.
Something was seriously wrong with those organizations. S, I started to dig in. I've met dozen Board directors, both ex and current President of the BF in public and private, people who started whole IBC thing and people who are judges at IBC, as well as their "boss", whom I with great pleasure blocked on FB.
1. Blues is old folks music.
2. Blues is rich, white old hippies music
3. IBC is money making machine, Does not anything to do with the music.
4. There is no money in the blues, except if you are Vizz-Tone owner or co-owner.
5. Judges and IBC itself killed anything worth on that event. There is less and less people there, every year; less and less quality musicians, less end less interesting music.
If you like to play the blues, play it for free, with a people who like it somewhere, with the people who enjoy it and don't think about IBC or BF. It's waste of time & money.

I love Blues. I love playing Blues. I love playing Blues just a little differently every gig.
But I'm in central Texas.
Country music keeps me working and providing actual $.
And you might be surprised how well one can work a few Blues fills into a Country gig without others noticing.

Just an old Texas bass man. Full of surprises.

Save me a number, please.
