I'll measure it myself and post what I get. The info I pasted above was what I got from Fender but I admit I did not verify the nut width. Everything else seems to be correct.

I'll try to remember to do that tonight...

Its a killer bass. I gotta give it a setup and swap out the strings. Just got it this past Wednesday. I personally think its a better sounding bass than the modern jazzes.

I've looked and looked and can't find a Boner Bass Club here on the forum. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a late 80s to early 90s run of American Fender basses (just Jazz basses?) that had 2 extra frets and longer horns - thus the "boner" reference. They were also known as Long Horn basses. Well, I have a boner ... bass and was looking to start a club here. Post pictures of your late 80s early 90s boner basses here.

Below is my 1993 American Fender Standard Jazz bass. I've been the only owner and have played it for all 17 years. The only thing on it that is NOT original is the nut which was replaced around 1996 when the original one cracked at the g-string. It was replaced with a genuine Fender part.

Sign me up - I just purchased a red boner J like yours (ebay) and will pick it up tomorrow (not far from where I live) I'll post pics but it's a clone of yours so may be redundant. I'm not a big "red" guy, so there may be a refinish in the future - I dig the silver-grey one that preceded this post.

I saw an '89 for sale on ebay that looked identical... is this essentially the same bass w/the more complex tone pot?

Mine is a '92 and it was described (by the seller) as a standard Jazz bass (no "boner" reference) but it looks identical to yours and has a N2------ serial # - Perhaps he isn't aware of the whole "boner" thing...

Gettin' Jazzed! I did some research on that red - is it what they called Torino red? There is also reference to a Ferrari red but it's not on their colour chart. It's growing on me so it will most likely stay - just gotta' get used to owning/playing a RED bass <like our friend here
