Boom Bass Cabinets

FYI Our prices are on our website. The difference in price between the base F212 and a standard Tank 1215 which includes recessed wheels and a telescopic handle is more than $300. Your information is incorrect.

If offering this correction violates CUP it is unintentional.

But you get the option for custom options for that base price on the F212. The way I read the boom site, is if you want particulars, like custom grill, then you pay extra for them. Thats all well and good, just trying to pair apples with apples.

Then by all means stick to apples. There is no pricing for custom grills on our website so where did you get it? I am happy to explain anything that isn't clear about our pricing, which we kept extremely simple.

I am offering the following information as a counterpoint to the incorrect information previously stated by CL400PEavey, not in an attempt to solicit anything:

I went to the gigmaster site and according to that, as you said the base price of an F212 is $1500. The standard price on our Tank 1212 is $999. IMO that would be the apples-to-apples comparison. We don't have a base price because our cab comes with wheels, telescopic handle and a HF driver with L-pad standard ... all of which are optional on the F212 as far as I can tell from their pricing. So $1,500 + $90 for the HF driver, + $80 for casters is $1,670. That is $671 more than a Tank 1212 and if you add two handles for $70 to the F212 to make it similar to the Tank 1215 that puts it at $1,740. Still over $500 difference. And we include shipping in our pricing, I have no idea what shipping on the Fearless cabs are nor did I bother to look.

The pricing is not similar. Far from it.

You're right you dont mention custom grills, but there are options for custom colors and patterns, and custom trim options. I would assume that if someone wanted custom options, they would match with those kinds of costs? I compare the pricing of the 1215 to the F212 as that is maybe the boom cab that comes closest to the performance of the fEARless cab in question.

I dont know why any of that offends you so Brad.

If anyone wants gig comparison between cabs feel free to ask @Dave Hill . I think his experience would be telling.

Please don't. I have no idea why you'd think I'm offended... there is nothing in my responses that points to me being offended. Far from it.
:)

I corrected some serious misinformation on your part. Happy to do it. That's how people become informed. I'm not assuming you're offended by that. You are assuming things about which of our cabs matches up with the F212 because you still have no direct experience with our cabs. That's cool, I know that's how you carry things here and that doesn't offend me either.

The options you speak of for our cabs are very simple. You can go with a different Tolex covering than our standard red or black. For example, the gator pattern or purple. The other option is going with two colors/patterns. If a matching trim is available, that's included. That's it... nothing to be assumed, the prices are right there.

The fundamental target for all of our cabs is gigging, not going head to head with anything else on paper. As such we recommend that folks compare any of our cabs to anything else, many have been surprised with the results. You might be too one day. We have no doubt that Fearless/Fearful/Greenboy cabs are excellent cabs in their own way and are very happy to be considered in the same space. Just another option.

As I have mentioned on the topic in similar threads. I have experience with the drivers used, and understand what general cab design does for the output. It isnt magic. It is called extrapolation. Have you ever played an F212 Brad?

As far as head to head, at the gig, I will wait for Dave's input as he does have experience with both brands.

I'm pretty sure f212 base price is 1600 which includes tilt back wheels and handle, strap handles on sides, 2 speakon inputs, HF driver, L pad, and mid switch. Options are basically colors, fabric grills, and xtra handles.

Worth every penny

The fact remains that you haven't heard one of our cabinets. Yet you have strong opinions about them anyway. You've made that abundantly clear thread after thread... at this point I'm completely cool with that.
:)

The question of whether I've played an F212 is pretty amusing. While I have heard fearful cabs, I have not played an F212. I will as soon as I get the opportunity just for my own education. And you may have noticed, I have also not passed judgement on them because of that simple fact. I would feel silly doing that. I reserve making judgement on something that I personally have not experienced. That is where we clearly differ.

So while it's probably a great cab, I won't say yay or nay performance-wise until I've had my mitts on one. I just won't... and it's easy to reserve judgement when you know you'd have to defend an incorrect assumption down the road. That's what I do with pretty much any gear I'd consider. By the same token, the form factor wouldn't work for me... I like to gig in my Miata.
:D

I got the pricing I referenced from the site that CL400Peavey mentioned. If the pricing on that site is incorrect, cool. Otherwise I think I agreed with the $1,500 base price that he and the website posted and the options that would match what our cabs have as standard, in the case of the (telescopic) handle/HF driver/recessed wheels/two recessed handles on the Tank 1215... are all extra cost items on the F212. Maybe you're not looking at gigmaster?
:)

We aren't supposed to be discussing prices here at all if we're a commercial user... Just saying :)

So as a commercial user I'm supposed to let blatant misinformation on pricing stand? If he had said that you were selling cabs for more than you were and the comparable cab that he liked was being sold for less than it is, you'd have to remain silent?

I'm sure a mod can let me know if what I quoted and countered is allowed. I didn't bring up pricing. I know that is not allowed.
:)

And I'd appreciate not having another thread about our cabinets hijacked and closed.

F212 does come standard as a 3-way cabinet that includes the HF driver.
I cannot say whether the $1500 listed is out of date.
Nowhere do I see where it says that the wheels are standard, so that Might be the difference between the $1600 Dave states & the $1500 given on Gigmasters website.

Brad, the optional HF driver is only for the fEarful cabs.

Just attempting to add a little clarity & throw out a possible explanation for the $1600 & $1500 price difference, but on that I could be wrong.
I did get a quote from one of the builders after the F212 1st came out, but prices very likely have changed since then, so I will let one of the Official Gb builders chime in.

You can take all of these points up with CL400PEavey and the gigmaster website he mentioned. Per that website the F212 base cab is available with an optional HF driver, it is an upcharge and not standard. You'll find that on their website. And you appear to be incorrect that the optional HF driver is only for the fearful cabs. Hopefully you'll correct that. This was very easy to check before you posted so I'm not sure what's going on here. It just confuses things IMO.
:)

I really couldn't care less about Fearless's pricing, I do have a problem when it is incorrectly stated as was ours. Again, I don't get the need to do that.

The following builder does show the F212 for $1600, but it does specify that it includes the tilt-back casters & handles.

fEARless

Once again, we were going by the dealer that CL400peavey referenced. What any other builder is doing wasn't relevant to this tangent... it was based on CL400Peavey's grasp of our pricing, which has one source, and the one Fearless source he alluded to. That source has very clear options and pricing. Go look at it and see if you still disagree.

Okay?
:)

Tweeter comes standard, not as an option. Wheels, handles skid rails, LPad...all standard, just to clarify

That is no clarification, it only muddies the waters. I'm not sure why this thread is this difficult to follow.
:)

I don't plan on dealing with this any further. Here is a link to the website that CL400Peavey referenced in this tangent that he started:
FEARLESS 212

Look at the link! It is very relevant.
:D

It clearly says:
"Price includes woofers and midrange driver with crossover network, midrange attenuation switch, choice of baffle color, and at least one option for each of the categories below. Woofers are broken in and the cab is thoroughly tested before delivery".

There are drop downs for the options that I mentioned. If, even after reading this link and looking at the drop downs someone still feels compelled to disagree with what he linked, cool. In any event, the prices are not similar to ours as CL400Peavey clearly mistated, they are several hundred dollars apart.

I will just respond by referring back to this post. It'll definitely save time.
:D

Again, I don't want this thread locked over stuff like this.

You are somewhat correct - allow me to explain:
On Gigmasters I did not see the page that shows the HF driver as an option (it was on a link off of the pricing page - My Bad!).

On the main Greenboy Audio page it shows it as a reverse option ($1600 as the base price for the STANDARD 3-way cab & then the option to go without the HF driver is a minus $100 option, which agrees with the ScabbeyRoad pricing at $1600 for the Standard 3-way).

Seems like the authorized builders should make an effort to get on the same page with how pricing is handled, but it is a rather unique enterprise from the beginning, one of you Greenboy users might want to put a bug in their ears.

I've pasted in the relevant info here & will add the URL below that:

*snip*

:D

Pretty amazing. I am not somewhat correct, you have the link and this had nothing to do with any other authorized builder. How is that not completely correct? Rhetorical question, I don't really need to hear any more.

Frankly the lengths that Fearful fans will go to amazes me. They must be really nice cabs. Cool. Look at what's happening in a Boom Bass Cabinets thread.
:hmm:

Not that I want any of you to stop being yourselves. In the meantime we will let our products stand on their merits. So far so good and I guess the negative attention speaks for itself.
:D

dukeorock y'all do need to get on the same page.
Brad is right about Gigmasters pricing!

Brad is also right that his thread should not be high jacked :) I simply popped in because of a discrepancy based on prices that were set forth by Greenboy to his builders. I can't speak for anyone who goes outside those parameters
