I really doubt that... http://youtube.com/watch?v=InJaGmmv5d4

Stop being so old.Bruce Lindfield said:But why only show the worst about a country unless it's to make that point....
This seems small-minded to me - to make a film about a group of easy targets who are not exactly representative - what's the point - except cheap, infantile, laughs....?
If by "old" you mean "able to comprehend and appreciate humor whose punchline extends beyond phallicism and flatulence", you can count me in, too (did I really just agree with Lindfield?). That's d### and fart jokes for those of you whippersnappers without a dictionary in front of you or basic English classes behind you.Vosk said:Stop being so old.
Mole said:It is kind of funny how he chose the one person that obviously doesn't know who Borat is, though.

Bruce Lindfield said:He's not that popular in Eastern Europe - banned in several countries in fact!!![]()
Techmonkey said:With respect, you assuming everyone who enjoys this film is a low brow ******* incapable of seeing real humor, because somehow living in your magical country of intellectuals gives you a natural advantage over the rest of us, taking some form of cultural high ground... that is bullcrap. what I tried to get you to realise (and obviously failed) was that if you really knew about other cultures, you'd appreciate that some people from cultures that are supposedly being misrepresented might not actually be misrepresented at all.

Vosk said:I haven't seen the movie, but have seen much of Baron Cohen's previous work. It's not all "dick and fart jokes" ....

Bruce Lindfield said:I think you're missing the point big-time there - nobody is saying the film is bad because it misprepresents Kazakh culture or any ME culture
davidmurphy said:The Russian government is saying exactly that.
Still waiting to hear the names of the other 'many countries like Russia' that have banned it.
People have different taste when it comes to entertainment be it art, music, tv, movies etc.
The idea of judging a person because they like a movie is ridiculous.
For BMC to tell someone else to broaden their mind is laughable.
He has looked down on every person who has spoken in favour of this film, has made no effort to appreciate any one else's point of view & has been patronising from the start.
I'm 29 & have been to:
England,
Scotland,
France,
Holland,
Spain(Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Bilbao),
Germany,
Czech Republic,
Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg & the Black Sea),
U.S. (New York, Florida, L.A., Vegas, baby, Vegas,)
China (Hong Kong, Beijing, Sujou, Xi'an, Shanghai)
& Portugal.
I hope I am old enough & have travelled to enough places in order to be allowed to express my opinion, BMC.
