You can connect the GTKC to an interface at line level. Just switch the Main Level Line Select to +4dBu and connect using a normal TR cable. But if it works the way you’re using it and it sounds good, then there’s no problem. Just my opinion. My situation is that I’m thinking about starting an Indie Label so I can’t leave anything to chance when distributing songs and albums.

Yeah it’s more than sufficient for practice at home and demos. It’s super handy to know though!

Ps I found a Cioks dc4 on eBay so made a low bid and got it, comes with the power supply and some extra bits The 4 means I’m pretty much at capacity for outlets, could always swap out the separate tuner though if I did wanna add another.

It’s a useful deterrent from buying more pedals though

I think the DC4 can connect to a battery too instead of the mains.

It is possible to change patches in manual mode with an external FS.

However on the screen that shows which footswitch controls which effect the patch name/number is miniscule. On the screen with the big patch name you cannot see footswitch functions...

Something else to realize with the Core: those 5 rotaries have global assignments / can NOT be assigned per patch !

Nah, don't worry, you have been very helpful, and so far it looks like the only show-stopper might be inability to assign different patches to each of 3 switches.
So, I could work around this if I could do the following: can I cycle through the patches (using the external switch to), and jump straight into manual mode, where I could assign different functions to each switch? That way I could switch to the patch for the next song where I use the clean sound, activate switch 2 to turn the synth on via MIDI, then go back to clean using switch 1, then activate drive using the switch 3, then turn the drive off and activate the synth with switch 2 etc...

I see, thank you so much, this answers all my questions. Doesn't make the Core more interesting unfortunately.
For my usage, I'd need a separate MIDI controller, which defeats the purpose of downsizing. So nothing for me here, I'm afraid. It looks like a great unit otherwise, I'll consider a full GT-1000 maybe...

Well I just scored a radial prodi super cheap 2nd hand which makes my board complete and gig ready (for now) Still wanna spend a little time getting the Cioks bolted on rather than Velcro everywhere.

I was also tempted to get an order for a full set of replacement knobs and pedal toppers etc from LOVE MY SWITCHES Guitar Pedal Parts and More! ALWAYS same day shipping!.

Super happy with my setup at the mo, can’t wait to blast it out at some volume on Tuesday! Let’s hope my Barefaced two10 can keep up with a loud punk band

Anyone rigged up to record to your phone? I had some bonus bucks with IKMultimedia so I just ordered an irig pro. Then I ordered a type B to type C cable that hopefully lets my GX100 output to my phone and record. Hopefully it all works, I have been wanting to record my practice so I can review but I don't practice at my computer and I'm not pulling everything downstairs to my rig so I can record down in the living room. The irig and my phone should set nicely in that open space up top

I think you’d have to take the line out of your GT into the iRig and use that, there’s no way (as far as I know) to use the GT direct to a phone as it needs drivers that aren’t available on mobile.

That’s ace! I’ve seen loads of posts saying it wasn’t possible!

Had my first practice with the new band and it sounded awesome. The multiband split for distortion works great, I think the Model FeT and Longsword work great but the GTK really ties it all together. I think there are a few songs which need phaser and flangers so the Core will be perfect.

The only thing that wasn’t great was my Barefaced Two10 which sounded great but was right at its limit. Gonna need to jump to a Four10 or a Super Twin I think.

I had to try multiple apps as they all kept recording the phone mic. Some phone mic only, one did record my gx100 signal AND the phone mic. Then finally tried this one and it recorded my bass signal. Now I gotta figure out how to record my backing/drum tracks at the same time.
