Ok here they are 4 Ampeg Files
1. Ampeg SVT Dry but cntl 1 will set OD and cntl 2 will set a flange
2. Ampeg SVT With Compression and EQ scoop for slap playing with a bite. Can add delay and chorus with cntrl
3. Ampeg SVT Dirty OD with Flange
4. Ampeg Fretless with hard attack. A little Jaco if you will. can add delay and EQ scoop to smooth out attack by cntrl
Note that the GT-10B doesn't include any phantom protection, so even though it's a XLR DI connection you shouldn't ever apply phantom, or so Roland support told me. So there may still be merit using a transformer based DI to send to FOH.
Recently I used mine as a DI direct to the board in a studio situation. It sounded fine the first day, but on the second day when I came back in, there was an unexplainable hiss in my DI signal. It doesn't occur in the 1/4" outputs, so I've been able to continue gigging with it normally. But, now that I've read this, I wonder if I may have unwittingly caused some damage to my unit with phantom power in the studio.I've never seen any reports of people frying their floorboards with phantom. So maybe it's not even a real problem and it's just what their support agents have to say to cover themselves.
+1. IMO, the synth is OK in its very limited voicing. What it does sounds OK, but it doesn't do much. No long, wacky Tom Sawyer sweeps, for sure.I think they are great, because you can tweek them a lot. They are emulations of well known fx, and i like the sound they generate.. some distortions sound a little digital, but with the right amount of EQ you can overcome this.. and the synth is not fantastic, but overall effects are indeed very good
The Synth effect is Monophonic, so you can only use one note at a time, to have a synth which tracks all strings, you will need a Roland GR-55 synth and a hexaphonic GK-3B pickup.I've had the unit for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. I use it for a little color in some songs and mainly for the preamp/comp/eq when recording. While I read in the thread that the synth sounds are not great I seem to be having a different problem with this function. If I have the synth effect on I can strike the strings and get no sound at all and then when it randomly does a very loud burst of syth noise will come out. I have not used any other synth pedals so I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or if there is something wrong with the unit. This applies to all of the preset synth patches as well as any of the synth sounds you would get using EZ tone, etc. I use a passive P bass if that helps. Not sure if I explained the problem well but hopefully someone knows what I am getting at.
On a side note I also am experiencing problems when connected to headphones. Another feature I do not intend to use much. When connected to headphones I get the signal in the left ear only and it is muted. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks in advance for any replies!
