Boss new wireless WL-50 and WL-20

maybe I'm in minority, but I actually like the bashed dongle part (i.e. non-belt-clip). I'm not particularly fond on how does the Boss transmitter plugs in the receiver (G10 way of plugging it on top seems more convenient to me).
I'll say it that way: the receiver with pedalboard is in front of me, not behind (as my strap is), so this way seems more logical than a beltpack for me. unplugging it from my active basses is also convenient: you just pull it out and that's it.

The specs say the WL-20 comes with a USB cable but NOT the adapter to plug into the wall? Why?
The Line 6 G10 comes with the complete cable/charger.

two moments that surprise me so far:

Make sure the Wi-Fi router and the receiver are at least 3 meters apart.
wow. if the transmitter cuts out when there is interference, that's understandable. but receiving sound from another wireless device in a digital wireless system? never heard of it with other digital wireless systems. that must be some weird protocol that does not do integrity and source checks, thus very prone to interference.

i think that's where you plug the piece back in to the receiver and let it search for a new channel. i could only see it picking up sound from another of the same kind of wireless.
I got my WL-50 in Monday, been playing it around in my music room only so far. No gigs until this weekend, but my initial assessment is that it sounds good, like really good, like better than the cheap 1/4 I usually use in my music room. Oddly this made me compare all my cables, and my stage cable sounded the best. But I can't say why. Maybe it's in my head, but it feels like it's better than a cheap cable, but worse than a nice cable.
I did prefer the cable emulation on in short mode. Long was a little muted when I played clean, and no emulation was sterile sounding. That is a definite always on switch. I could see an acoustic player prefer no cable emulation, but not me.
I haven't really tested distance, although I'm not super worried, I'm always gonna be in reasonable range of my pedalboard to use the bazillion things I have on it, this is more about convenience and freedom of movement. But, I did find 1 major annoyance so far. When the pedalboard is turned off and no batteries in the receiver, the transmitter stays on in the cradle, it doesn't even go into standby mode, so it just burns the battery back down. The instructions say to pull it out of the receiver at that point and when it finishes charging, so this will make it very easy to lose. I definitely will want to order a spare transmitter down the road if I keep it.

I had line6 G 30 before and I like the sound without the cable sim so I choose 'L' version.
(BTW. without L version doesn't have a swith for cable sim. it seems like just fixed to engage the filter.)
I'll try on the stage this weekend and update about range and reliability.

Still don't know how you got that. Boss today via Facebook told me the wl-20l wouldn't be available till November.
