Ha, that's no joke.
Around where I live you can't touch a bottle of Elmer T. Lee for under $250-300.
When we go visit friends in New Hampshire, you can find it in Massachusetts liquor stores for $40-45 a bottle.

It IS crazy. The oddest is how each market is different. Different with regards to availability and with regards to pricing.
And I do admit to grinding on what I cannot find or afford in my backwater burgh.
The best thing is to not get hung up on what is not available what is too spendy. Rather, I focus on what I do have. What is easy in your market might be tough for other people in other places. So rejoice, cherish what you have, and pour a drink for someone else!
(Last night, for the second time in a month I was able to turn my nephew onto some nice Scotch. It is so satisfying to share with an enthusiastic fan that has less experience.)

Wow. That Stagg is amazing. So outrageously-priced these days, though. No way I can justify it.
My go-to is Noah's Mill. I'm always happy with it and it's pretty reasonably-priced. I also sometimes have a bottle of Booker's around, which I also always enjoyed, but I prefer Noah's Mill. My current bottle of Booker's is the 2018-04 "Kitchen Table." I also have a bottle of Mic Drop 3.0, which is quite impressive.
So, remember on the last page how we were briefly discussing the value of 200ml and 375ml bottles? Well, that dynamic played out on the store shelf this weekend. I was in Safeway and found a 375 of Marker's Mark Cask Strength. So of course I grabbed it. I've always been slightly underwhelmed by the "regular" Maker's. It just seems too...simple. But I always felt it would work far better as a higher proof expression. I probably would not have sprung for a full 750 of it though. So the 375 was perfect!

Stagg, Old Forester, and a couple Weller expressions showed up at a grocery store in town I'd never expect to see them at.
Prices are high, $99 each for the Weller and Old Forester. I'll have to wait them out until the prices come down.
