Imagine if you are able to grab the new Gold Foil release. 16 years old...Mmmmmmm. I'm hearing good things.
I feel like they do at some point. The part I remember most is getting to dip your own bottle in the red wax and giving it the right swirl so it drips evenly.Do they address the "whisky" spelling on the tour?

You're good buddy. For years I chased bottles all over the country, dropping thousands of dollars along the way and it was good times. I get it. I'm just over that now and prefer to find the hidden gems that taste nearly as good for under $50, maybe $60 a bottle.I guess I won't mention the time I spent $500.
Anyone can buy a bottle of bourbon that tastes good for big bucks. The real art is finding the cheaper stuff that is quite good. That's my new adventure. Like the Beam @Pilgrim turned me on to years ago for maybe $20 a bottle.

I'm right there with you. I am absolutely over spending that kind of money anymore. I've started exploring rum lately and a nice bottle of Doorly's 14 is 48 bucks.
I'd love to hear about those. I typically spend between $50 and $100 on a bottle. One of my go-tos is the Bakers 7. About $65.
Knob Creek blenders edition. Listening to In Times of Dragons by Tori Amos.....
I forgot to mention, if you like Beam, give the single barrel or 7-year Black a spin. Both are exceptional bottles.
The Jim Beam Black has been one of my favored bourbons for years and one of the bottles I've bought the most of. Add in Booker's and I was a pretty happy guy.
Going with the Old Overholt 11 Rye for the nightcap. Jim Beam does some of the best rye whiskey....uh, in my opinion. This 11 has a distinct powdered bubble gum note, like the kind we used to get in Whacky Packies or Star Wars cards on the bottom of the glass, and a beautiful, buttered caramel corn into vanilla toward the top of the glass. Beam is barely legal rye so a lot of bourbon notes shine. No mint or heavy rye spice here.. The 12-yr rye is even better.

Ok..I'm going for the cap of the nightcap....a Barrell cigar blend. It's close to the Joseph Magnus without the complexity. It's close but "Nancy the Nose" has got the edge.
